We certainly wrapped this one like a mummy! Do you love food? We do! And we love cooking for you on tour. We do not know ANY equivalent in our industry where your coaches are also your cooks at this level, passionate about feeding you properly and offering you a taste of Tasmania’s famous fresh produce.

Seafood, steaks, the best salads, big breakfast spreads, gourmet picnic lunches on the beach. We also cater for any and all dietary requirements. We’re in constant contact with local providores and it shows up on your plate every meal. Tasmania’s East Coast is a major w**e area, so if you want to exchange an hour of paddling for some time at a cellar door we’re into that too! Our temperate climate creates slowly-maturing grape varieties packed with flavour, from Pinot Noir to Chardonnay you won’t forget a w**ery stop on the East Coast.

We think long days of paddling in sea air and “off the map” locations need the best and most nutritious fuel, that’s why we 100% control food preparation on our East Coast tours, Camps & Getaways. We think when our guests leave asking for recipes and talking as much about the food as the scenery & paddling … you’re doing something right!

Introducing the new seamless constructions from Epic Kayaks, recently landed to Tasmania 🚀🚀 We have a couple of proud new V10 owners, one in Launceston and another in Hobart. The Hobart-based V10 is due for collection later this year and until then it’s on display in our shop for you to check out 👀

Amazing to see the new builds in the flesh, super stiff, super light and super sleek with no seams. Autoclave pre-preg technology has come to the Epic range and our customers are definitely better for it!

East Coast Tasmania Paddling Getaways

A little East Coast downwind to set the scene for this summer. This run is halfway between our Getaway base and Hobart airport, so if it’s working we like to score it en route! This course has a wide open and remote feel despite a main road closely following the course for logistics and safety. A shallow bay and summer sunshine combine to create a unique blue/green colour in the water thanks to millions of tiny microalgae who form the base of the marine food chain in this area. The shallow water also creates some amazing windwaves for surfing, they’re always fast and easy to catch.

One of the best features of this downwind has gotta be one of Tasmania’s oldest pubs waiting for us at the finish 🍻

East Coast Tasmania Paddling Getaways

Why are the sands on our East Coast so pure and white? And why are you almost guaranteed to get a whole beach to yourself in this beautiful area?

During this fully-catered surfski tour we introduce you to Tasmania’s oldest National Park, experiencing World class ocean paddling under the granite mountains of the Freycinet Peninsula. These features have been slowly carved away by wind and waves over millions of years, leaving behind glassy quartz that creates the pristine beach landscape and crystal clear waters. You will be immersed in stunning nature, enjoy a much slower pace of life, and encounter one of the cleanest environments on the planet. This is a coaching tour and we design and instruct each of our sessions to improve aspects of your skills and technique along the way.

In combination with Tasmania’s famous produce, w**e and seafood this is an unforgettable experience, we often see guests returning two or three times for these Getaways. A growing trend in recent years has been private bookings from closely-matched paddling groups or friends from a similar area, so if you see some dates you like and have 6-8 people interested please get in touch!

During these trips we love to show you the variety of paddling available on the East Coast, and can definitely dial up the downwind to suit. November and December are our best months for wind, providing options from all four points of the compass. February and March are our warmest months with water temperatures approaching 20 degrees, February will produce classic downwind conditions almost every afternoon with March seeing more subtle and settled wind patterns.

Nordic Kayaks - new models 🚀

We’ve been paddling the latest Nitro 640 since April, raced it at Worlds this week, and rate this ski very highly. This model was among the most demanded by competitors at La Vila Joyoisa. Newly crowned World Champion Gordan Harbrecht from Germany 🇩🇪 🥇 paddled the Nitro 640 to victory in Spain, followed by Pierre Vilella from France 🇫🇷 🥈 who was also riding a 640. In fact 5 of the top 10 finishers at Worlds chose this ski!

💥The new Nitro 640 in Carbon X construction is available for test paddles at our Hobart shop right now, simply call 0439 844 649 to book a demo session.

💥The lower volume version, Nitro 625, will be arriving to Tasmania in December! This ski, another Carbon X model, has already pre sold but will be available for demos for a short time when it arrives. Please contact us by phone or email [email protected] to express your interest.

While in Spain we were lucky to trial the brand new NK Storm model, the 615, which will soon replace the popular 610. It is super sleek! The advantages with the 615 include better manouverability, a drier ride, and a much more effective bow shape for piercing waves. We could throw it around so much more easily and it was an absolute pleasure to paddle…like a very stable 640.

💥We’ll have our very first Storm 615 for you to test paddle in December alongside the 625!
