Bugeido Shotokan Karate Kingston

Bugeido Karate will hold its first Statewide Karate Competition since 2018. This year, the 2023 competition will be held at the Montague Bay Primary School Gymnasium.

The 'Children's Competition' will be staged between 9am-1pm, where children aged between 4 1/2yrs and 11yrs are able to compete in a safe and friendly atmosphere with other children their own age. The competition involves traditional floor patterns and sparring and Ground Wrestling (Okinawan Wrestling), which has been developed specifically for this age group by Bu-Geido. In the afternoon the "Colts and Seniors", compete in sparring and floor patterns in addition to traditional Japanese weaponry.

Hi everyone, hope that you are all enjoying your holiday break. Just a reminder that our children's holiday workshop starts this Monday (16th). There are still a few places left if anyone is interested. Also, Sempai Jessey will be starting classes back up for Juniors/Seniors from Monday next week - 6pm to 7.30pm. All levels welcome. We will be holding an January Holiday programme for children aged 7 years and over on Monday 16th and 23rd of January 2023. Each programme will go for 6 hours starting from 9am and finish by 3pm

The programme will involve instructional training, along with the following; Ju-Jitsu(self defence), Kata, Kobudo(short staff), Bag work, Kumite(Non-Contact Sparring), and Team work activities + Fun Gymnastics, ending the day with Pizza’s and Karate movie (PG rated of course!).

Cost is $50 per child for one Monday or $80 per child for the two Mondays, and I will only be able to take a maximum of 15 students per session, as this is the best coach/student ratio.
