🤿 Safer access to Tinderbox Marine Reserve

Divers, snorkellers and other recreational water users can now enjoy safer and easier access to the water, with a new dive platform installed at the Tinderbox Jetty.

The upgrade provides a dedicated access point to the reef, helping separate divers from boat traffic and reducing the need to cross the boat ramp.

The project was developed following advocacy from the Crabs Dive Club, which identified concerns with the existing access.

Caroline Mason from the Crabs Dive Club welcomed the upgrade.
“The eastern side of Tinderbox Bay is home to a beautiful rocky reef with abundant marine life, but access has traditionally been difficult and sometimes unsafe.
"The new steps provide a safer and more convenient way for divers and snorkellers to access the reef without crossing the boat ramp.
"It’s a win for divers, a win for boaties and a win for the foreshore, which will benefit from reduced trampling along the shoreline.”
