Open Day 2026 - was a fantastic day of free tennis sessions for all ages and abilities.
Over 100 participants of all abilities enjoyed the day - playing cardio tennis, junior sessions, intermediate sessions and rusty racquets - as well as some basic skill sessions.
Beat the Coach was a particularly popular session - we may have to repeat this one in 2027!
The line was long to show the coach what they had!!
The sun shone
The club was rocking - on and off court
The free racquets were walking out the door with the excited winners of the session draws as well as those taking out new junior memberships on the day.
๐พ๐พ if you are considering your child becoming a junior member - our current club promotion for a free racquet and attending five free Junior Club Nights (Fridays from 4pm) remains open - commencing 27 Feb. ๐พ๐พ
It is more than the tennis at Kingston Tennis Club.

Come โnโ Try Tennis for Seniors has recently seen approximately 20 new faces at Kingston Tennis Club - who hosted on Tuesday 23 April 2024.
The regular social session participants took to the courts with the guests.
We even managed to borrow some โvintageโ tennis racquets for a laugh.
Kingborough Council (Positive Ageing Program staff) in conjunction with Kingston Tennis Club committee and members/players and Tennis Tasmania combined resources to highlight the benefits of time spent on court - albeit comfortably and slowly - both for physical and mental health.
Lots of laughter during the event - teamed together with some serious hitters taking to the courts - proved that thereโs nothing quite like the sense of personal satisfaction and camaraderie to be found when exercising or playing a team sport with a group of people.
Thanks to Tennis Tasmania for equipment loan, Kingborough Council for continuing to support sport throughout the community and the wonderful Club committee and volunteers who gave of their time for the enjoyment of others.
Hereโs hoping thereโs a ripple effect in increased social health and wellbeing throughout Kingborough - as itโs long been known that tennis may improve balance, bone strength and hand/eye coordination.
And letโs not forget the avoidance of social isolation if you choose to participate from the sidelines as a spectator!
๐พ Thanks again to all club volunteers :
