One of the club's favourite party game of tossing the quoits over the bottle of wine. Whoever succeeds wins the bottle.
Congratulations to Karen and SharOn, the two winners on the night with a few other close attempts.

Some of the team from JACOBS —a global professional services company delivering science-based, digitally enabled, end-to-end solutions — from consulting and advisory to design and implementation, recently joined Redcliffe Red Dragons Dragon Boat Club for a training session ahead of the upcoming Queensland Corporate Games to be held at Northside Riverside Park on Sunday 31 May.
After a slightly “rocky” start, the crew quickly found their rhythm, working through paddling drills, practising race starts, and finishing the session with a spirited 200m race “to the bridge”. 💪💪💪
The team thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to putting their new skills and learnings into practice on race day under the crew name NIGHT FURYYYYYY.
A big thank you to club members Iciar (coach) and Barb (sweep) for putting the crew through their paces and helping prepare them for competition.👏👏👏
Best of luck to all 10 corporate crews (especially NIGHT FURYYYYYY 😁) competing at the Games this weekend. We look forward to seeing the photos and results from what promises to be a fantastic event.

Last Saturday, a small contingent of Redcliffe Red Dragons paddlers — Sharyn, Petra and Mick — took on the challenging 37km Enduro Quest up the beautiful Pumicestone Passage.
Joining forces with paddlers from Coomera, Manly, Pumicestone, Tweed Heads and Brisbane Typhoons, the composite crew tackled the event’s second edition alongside 10 dragon boat teams from as far away as Adelaide, Dubbo and Port Harding.
With near-perfect paddling conditions, favourable winds and only a slight chop on the water, the race began at 8:00am with the opening 15km leg to Mission Point. Dragonboat Pumicestone welcomed crews with a magnificent morning tea spread fit for a King — or Queen — which was very much appreciated by all paddlers!
The second 15km leg to Lighthouse Reach saw two waves of five boats weaving through the narrow northern channels before the final “sprint” into Caloundra.
The composite crew quickly became known as the “LOVE BOAT 💞” thanks to the number of couples onboard. Guided brilliantly by Brisbane Typhoon sweep Theresa, with the rock-solid stroking combination of Vendy and Kerry from Manly Dragon Boat Club, the team powered their way to an unexpected but very rewarding third-place finish.
A fantastic post-race spread catered by Maroochy Sea Serpents with a BBQ provided by the local Lions Club, was the perfect way to finish an incredible day on the water.
Huge thanks and congratulations go to Dragonboat Dragon Boat Pumicestone and Maroochy Sea Serpents for hosting such a fantastic event, BBQ and boats; Bribie Island for the scrumptious morning tea; Blueys Photography for the amazing photos and drone footage, and of course Marine Rescue Bribie Island and Caloundra Coast Guard for keeping everyone safe throughout the day.👏👏👏
First 3 winning times were Sunshine Coast - who were in front from start to finish, in a time of 3:40.52, Maroochy Sea Serpents coming in second 3:41.56 and the LOVE BOAT💞 3rd in a time of 3:43.51 Congratulations and fantastic effort by all the crews👏👏💪💪
An awesome day was had by all!😁😁😁

The Redcliffe Red Dragons delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 AusChamps, held at Lake Kawana from 18–23 April.
Fielding 29 paddlers across Senior A, B, and C divisions over three days of racing, the club demonstrated depth across the full ‘ABC’ spectrum—not just strength at a single level, but genuine competitiveness throughout.
An exceptional overall result saw almost every crew progress to finals. Two crews narrowly missed out by just 0.04s and 0.65s, underlining how fiercely contested the racing was—margins that can come down to a single stroke or perfectly timed call.
The near-misses are especially encouraging, showing Redcliffe is right on the cusp of even bigger results.

To make the finals at your first Nationals is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the crew’s determination, teamwork, and spirit.
Well done Snappies—you’ve done yourselves and the entire Redcliffe family proud. We are sure you will continue on your success at future Championships.👏👏👏
A standout achievement goes to Redcliffe’s Senior B Women’s 10’s crew, crowned 2026 National Champions in both the 500m and 2km—an incredible accomplishment and a proud moment for the club.💪💪💪🤜🤛
Across all categories, racing was exceptionally tight, particularly in the finals, highlighting the high standard of competition.
A huge THANK YOU to our coaches, sweeps, and paddlers for their dedication and hard work throughout the season. These results reflect the commitment and dedication shown both on and off the water. 👏👏👏
Redcliffe Red Dragons have truly made their mark—we’re excited to carry this momentum into the 2026/2027 season.

The Senior A Mixed 10’s 200m event at the recent AusChamps at Lake Kawana featured incredibly close racing, with just one to two seconds separating the top three crews in each race.
Redcliffe’s Senior A Mixed 10’s crew progressed steadily throughout the competition. They placed 4th in their heat before winning their repechage, securing qualification for the finals as the 6th fastest crew overall.👊👊👊
The team continued to improve with each race, ultimately shaving 2.4 seconds off their time in the final. Their efforts earned them an impressive 3rd place finish, just 1.1 seconds behind the winning crew, MAKO.🥉💪💪💪
Congratulations to the crew on a fantastic performance—and even making an appearance on Channel 7 News!👏👏👏
