Shire teams coming out as the big winners in the Champion of Champions 2026 with Kangas out in front. Go the Kangas 🦘 🦘 🦘

Sutherland Shire football clubs have enjoyed a remarkable weekend, claiming four state titles from six grand final appearances at the 2026 Football NSW Champion of Champions finals.

The competition brought together some of the best grassroots football teams from across New South Wales at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday, 18 October.

The Sutherland Shire Football Association finished with more titles than any other association, with Kirrawee Kangaroos, Lilli Pilli FC and Gymea United all celebrating championship victories.

KIRRAWEE KANGAROOS CLAIM TWO TITLES

Kirrawee Kangaroos were the standout Shire club, winning two championships.

Their Under 15 Girls defeated Lindfield 3–1, with Jazz Crampton scoring twice to help secure the title.

The club's Under 17 Boys followed with a 2–0 victory over Lindfield, with Jacob Santo scoring both goals.

LILLI PILLI BOYS CROWNED CHAMPIONS

Lilli Pilli FC's Under 15 Boys claimed their state title with a 2–0 win over Banksia Tigers.

Jack Austen and Finn Clarke scored the goals to secure the championship.

GYMEA UNITED WOMEN DOMINATE

Gymea United's All Age Women delivered one of the most impressive performances of the day, defeating UTS 6–2.

Jasmin Saunders scored a hat-trick, while Siobahn Dibley added two goals in the commanding victory.

HEARTBREAK FOR TWO SHIRE FINALISTS

Georges River FC narrowly missed out on the Under 16 Boys championship, losing 2–1 to Balmain in extra time.

Brodie Piper had given Georges River an early lead before Balmain fought back to claim the title.

Lilli Pilli FC's Under 18 Women were also involved in a dramatic final against Lindfield.

Despite leading 2–0 and later 3–2, Lilli Pilli suffered a heartbreaking 4–3 defeat after Lindfield converted a late penalty.

The results cap off an outstanding campaign for the Shire's grassroots football community, with four championship victories across boys', girls' and women's competitions.
