🏆 2026 SEASON | MORE THAN JUST FOOTBALL 🩵

As we wrap up the 2026 season, the Grand Final photos give us the perfect opportunity to celebrate what has been an incredible year for Maroochydore Football Club, on the pitch, off the pitch and across our wider club community.

⚽ ON THE PITCH
🏆 15 competitive teams reached finals
🥇 8 Premierships
🏟️ 9 Grand Final appearances
🏆 6 Grand Final Champions
👥 788 players represented MFC

🚀 BUILDING OUR FUTURE

2026 was also a significant year for the continued development of our club.

🏟️ Facility upgrades continued to improve the environment we provide for our players, coaches and families.

🎉 Social events and community activities brought our club together away from the pitch, creating the connection and sense of belonging that makes MFC more than just a football club.

💡 New ventures and partnerships helped us continue to grow, create opportunities and build a stronger foundation for the future.

🦢 FQ ACADEMY | A MAJOR MILESTONE

One of the biggest achievements of the year was successfully completing the Football Queensland Academy assessment and being awarded the Club Shield: Development Committed status for 2027.

It is recognition of the work being undertaken across our football program and an important step forward in our ambition to provide a genuine development pathway for players from Community → FQ Academy Tier 2 → FQ Academy Tier 1.

And the journey is only beginning.

❤️ THANK YOU

None of this happens without the people behind the scenes.

To our players, coaches, team managers, volunteers, committee, families, sponsors, partners and supporters, thank you for everything you have contributed throughout 2026.

Whether you lifted a trophy, played your first game, coached a team, volunteered at an event, helped improve our facilities, supported a fundraiser or simply stood on the sideline every weekend, you are part of this story.

2026 has been a season of achievement, growth, connection and progress.

And while we celebrate what we have accomplished, we are already looking forward to what comes next.

TOGETHER WE STAND. 🩵

🏆 FQ DEVELOPMENT COMMITTED CLUB SHIELD 🩵

We are incredibly proud to announce that Maroochydore Football Club has successfully completed the Football Queensland audit process for FQA acceptance and has been awarded official Tier 2 status “Development Committed” for 2027. ⚽

The feedback from Football Queensland was excellent, with MFC commended on our first submission and the work that has gone into establishing our development framework.

This is an important milestone for our club and reflects the commitment of our Football Department, coaches, players, volunteers and members to creating a genuine player development pathway at Maroochydore.

🦢 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Tier 2 “Development Committed” status does not guarantee a place in the FQA leagues. We now await the allocation process and confirmation of where MFC will play in addition to Sunshine Coast Community Football in 2027.

📅 The coming weeks:

1️⃣ Coming days — 2027 Expressions of Interest open
2️⃣ Coming weeks — Retention/retrial letters sent to current MFC players
3️⃣ Coming weeks — FQA league declarations, confirming where we will play
4️⃣ Coming weeks — Academy & Division 1 Community trials commence
⚠️ FQA trials must be completed by 2 November

Players and families will receive further information as dates and times are confirmed.

⚽ A GENUINE DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

Our goal is to provide players with a clear pathway to continue developing at MFC, while also supporting players where opportunities at a higher-level academy may better suit their individual development.

If a player is identified as having the potential to benefit from progressing to a higher-level academy, our Football Department will work with the player and family to help facilitate that process.

Most importantly, player development remains at the centre of what we are building.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to getting MFC to this point. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our club. 🩵
