🧡 FQPL3 WOMEN | PRELIMINARY FINAL RESULTS 🧡

WOW. JUST WOW. 😮‍💨🔥

Friday night at home was everything a Preliminary Final should be.

Based on the 2026 statistics between these two sides, this match was always destined to be a cracker. Previous encounters had seen neither team able to secure a win on the other’s home soil - so something had to give.

The Mustangs came out strong, creating chances from the onset. Our opening goal came from a long ball into the danger area, finding Ursula on the attacking run. Her effort deflected off the keeper, and quick-thinking Bailie was there to finish it off. 1-0 Mussie! 🧡

Kingscliff responded by converting a penalty to level the score, before a mish*t ball gave Kingy the opportunity to fire home and put Kingscliff ahead 2-1 heading into the break.

And didn’t that half-time talk find another level. 🔥

The girls came back out more determined than ever, with both teams producing some seriously solid defensive efforts. The deadlock remained until the 70th minute, when a corner from Bailie was sent into the danger zone and created chaos in the box.
Lily got the final touch to send it into the back of the net!

2-2. GAME ON. 😤

The final whistle came before a winner could be found, meaning we were heading to EXTRA TIME.

Halfway through the first period, the Mustangs were awarded a free kick on the edge of the 18-yard box.

Step forward, Ursula. And boy, did she hit it well.

With power behind it, Ursula unleashed an absolute BULLET that the keeper simply could not stop.

3-2 MUSSIE! 🧡🔥

The girls dug deep, held off every further Kingscliff attack and battled until that final whistle.
And when it finally came…

GRAND FINAL BOUND! 🧡🧡🧡

A hard-fought victory that books our FQPL3 Women a place in their 7TH CONSECUTIVE GRAND FINAL!

What. A. Battle. 😮‍💨🔥

Our Premiership winning Div 1 Women hosted Nerang on Wednesday night in their Semi Final, and the girls delivered an absolute thriller from start to finish!

The Mustangs came out firing, opening the scoring less than a minute into the game! A perfectly weighted through ball from Liv at centre back, found Holly in behind, who calmly finished to put Mussie 1-0 up.

Halfway through the first half, Holly stepped up to take a corner and delivered it perfectly into the box, where Nambi rose highest to head it into the back of the net! 🧡

Nerang managed to pull one back just before half time, sending us into the break with a 2-1 lead.

Around 20 minutes into the second half, Nerang found the equaliser and from there it was a complete deadlock. Neither side could find a winner before the final whistle…

STRAIGHT TO PENALTIES. 😳

And what followed was a massive display of composure, courage and determination.

The Mustangs converted 7 of their 9 penalties, with the two shots on target being saved by the Nerang keeper.

Then came Sarah…

Stepping up when it mattered most, Sarah produced THREE HUGE PENALTY SAVES to send the Mustangs into the GRAND FINAL! 🧡🔥

What a performance from the whole team. A true team effort from the opening whistle right through to the final penalty.

Holly — an assist, a goal from open play AND confidently converting her penalty.

Sarah — multiple huge saves throughout open play, followed by THREE massive penalty saves when it mattered most.

Congratulations, girls! You fought for every moment, backed each other and never gave up.

Our FQPL3 Women are back on home soil this Friday night for their Preliminary Final, with everything on the line.

After a hard-fought semi final last week, the girls have another opportunity to keep their finals campaign alive and fight their way into the Grand Final! 🏆

They’ve worked incredibly hard all season, battled through challenges and shown exactly why they were crowned 2026 Premiers. Now it all comes down to this.

🧡 FQPL3 WOMEN | SEMI FINAL RESULT 🧡

What a fight from our FQPL3 Women on Friday night! 🔥

Hosting Surfers Paradise at Keith Hunt Park, the girls went into the half-time break 0-2 down. A big half-time pep talk saw the team come back out determined to fight their way back into the contest.

Mel made some crucial saves, while our defense continued to push through injuries, alongside a recovering Jayde, who was determined to make an impact.

And impact she did! 🧡

Following a first-time interception from Chanelle, Jayde found herself with the time and space to take a shot from distance and find the back of the net... 1-2!

From there, the Mussie girls were hungry.

A beautifully worked one-two between Ursula and Charlotte created an opportunity for Char to shoot. After the keeper's save deflected into the box, Ursula pounced, twirling onto the ball and striking it with power to level the game at 2-2! 🔥

With the end of the game approaching, Surfers Paradise found a late goal to make it 2-3 at the final whistle.

While the result wasn't what we wanted, the fight, determination and never-say-die attitude from this group was incredible. 🧡

🏅 PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Jayde

As our 2026 Premiers, the girls have earned a second chance in this year's finals series and will now face a Preliminary Final this Friday, with a place in the Grand Final still within reach.

The journey continues.

Tonight, our FQPL3 Women step into the finals with a huge SEMI FINAL clash against Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club - and they’re doing it under the lights at home! 🏆🔥

After an outstanding regular season, the girls were crowned 2026 PREMIERS, securing back-to-back league titles and an incredible FIVE league championships since 2020.

But the Premiership is only part of the story.

The girls have put in the work all season. They’ve battled through every challenge, continued to push each other and shown the consistency, determination and belief that has brought them to this point.

Now the finals campaign begins.

Tonight’s result could see the girls book their place directly in the Grand Final - and they’ll be leaving everything on the pitch to make that happen. 🧡

🧡 FQPL3 MEN | SEASON WRAP 🧡

That’s a wrap on the 2026 season for our FQPL3 Men.

The squad travelled to Sid Bigg Park last weekend for their final games against Mudgeeraba, facing two quality opposition teams.

While the results didn’t go our way, both teams fought until the final whistle and were unfortunate not to find the back of the net. The effort and resilience shown right through to the end is something the club is incredibly proud of. 🧡
