LIFE MEMBERSHIP ✨

Congratulations to Matt Tonkin who was awarded Player Life Membership of the Langhorne Creek Football Club.

Matt made his A Grade debut as a young 15-year-old back in 2005 and has since gone on to become one of the most respected figures in the brown and gold.

Over the course of his football journey, his achievements have included;

🏉 Over 450 career games
🏉 258 senior LCFC games
🏆 2005 Senior Colts premiership
🏆 2x A Grade premierships in 2011 and 2020
🥇 West End Medallist in the 2020 Grand Final
🏉 Multiple association and country champ appearances

Matt has also made a significant contribution away from the playing field, coaching our 2016 Junior Colts to a premiership and breaking a 41-year drought for this age group!

He’s a true club legend, a proud Hawk and now a player life member - Congratulations, Tonky - this is an incredible achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated 💛

LOCKED IN FOR 2027 🔒

We’re incredibly proud to announce the recommitment of our ENTIRE coaching group for season 2027, including our superstar mini Hawk coaches.

Same belief, bigger ambitions and a WHOLE lot of excitement about where this club is heading!!

And that’s all she wrote.

Our boys left absolutely EVERYTHING out there yesterday.

The last time these two sides met, we went down by 80+ points; and yesterday on the biggest stage, our boys led, and they fought until the final siren, finishing within a single goal of becoming premiers. That alone tells us everything about how far this group has come.

From NO finals last year.
From 4th on the ladder to a grand final.
And just one kick away.

They played their absolute guts out through this entire finals series. Ruthless, relentless and full of belief until the very end.

Of course this hurts, it should. They wanted this badly.

But it’s pretty hard to stay down when you look around and see just how much this group has achieved and an entire community standing behind them bursting with pride. That’s what shone brightest yesterday.

Yesterday showed exactly what we’re building at Hawk Park. This isn’t the end of the story, it’s feels a hell lot more like the beginning of something huge and exciting.

We’ll be back, we’ll be hungrier and we’ll go one better. I have NO DOUBT about it.

So bloody proud of you boys 💛

Tomorrow, our boys run out on the biggest stage.

The underdogs.
Zero expectations.
Nothing to lose.
And absolutely EVERYTHING to play for.

No one expected us to be here, yet here we are.

Behind these 21 blokes is an entire club, an entire community and a whole load of brown and gold ready to ride every second with them. They’ve been ruthless; they’ve been relentless and they’ve earned the right to have an almighty crack and we couldn’t be more excited for them.

THIS IS IT, HAWKERS.

Our RESSIES have made it all the way to the final day in September - and we couldn’t be more PROUD or EXCITED for them!!

The boys are locked in and ready for one final battle. Now it’s over to us.

⭐️ THURSDAY NIGHT

Our Ressies hit the track for their final training session, with club dinners served from 6.30pm. Snittys are on the menu and don’t miss your final chance for Lauren’s famous veggie bake. 🤤

We’re also calling ALL cheer-squad members, crafty gurus, and anyone capable of fluffing a pom pom to help us turn Hawk Park brown and gold for the big day.

We’ll be channelling our inner Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders - making signs, fluffing pom poms and preparing everything we possibly can to make some SERIOUS noise on Saturday 🎉

Grand Final shirts will be ready for collection for those who voted, with a limited number of extras available for $30.

So come down, grab dinner, get crafty and most importantly GET AROUND OUR BOYS as we announce the Grand Final side and hear from the coaches ahead of the big dance.

⭐️ SATURDAY

Bus departs LCFC 10.30am SHARP 🚌

Seats are $35, so see us Thursday night or message me to secure yours. Return bus departs Encounter Bay at 3pm.

And when the final siren sounds, let’s get EVERYONE get back to Hawk Park!

Our favourite paella guys will be firing up the pans Saturday night, the drinks will be cold and the clubrooms will be ready for one hell of an end-of-year celebration.

Because whatever happens Saturday, this club has a so much to be proud of in 2026.

So you know the drill folks, let’s flood Encounter Bay with brown and gold and bring the noise like never before.

WHAT A RIDE.

From 5th to a Prelim.
From NO FINALS last year, to being just one game out.

That’s not failure - that’s fight, that’s belief and that’s a HUGE bloody step forward.

Sometimes the ending hurts. And that’s footy- “It’s not a fairytale”.

But our senior squad, under the leadership of Jim, has given this club so much belief again. A season to be bloody proud of, and a foundation to build something pretty special on.

And honestly… we’re only just getting started and I have no doubt that this group will be back hungrier than ever in season 27.

But for now, ONE HAWK TEAM REMAINS.

Our Reserves have earned their place on the BIG STAGE. 🏆

Yesterday, our boys were scary, ruthless and relentless. And now they’ve got one more week to finish the job. It won’t be easy, against a strong McLaren outfit but our belief and momentum is at an all time high. Get behind our boys and paint the town brown and gold - this is all about our mighty Magoos.

Here’s to a HUGE WEEK AHEAD 💪🏼
