🖤🤍 MATCH RESULTS 🤍🖤
A mixed weekend of cricket for the club, with plenty of strong individual performances across our senior and junior grades!
A1: Woodville South posted 301 from their 80 overs. Alex Whicker was the best of our bowlers with 4/61 off 16, while captain Travis chipped in with 2/24 off 11.
B2: We managed to bowl Woodville South out on Day One for 143. Joey Ford the best of the bowlers with 4/60 off his 16 overs. Daniel Thomas (3/ 35 off 11) and Mitchell Hodson (2/4 off just 1.3) also helped get the visitors all out in just over 35 overs. But that's where the good news ended, as we were quickly bundled out by Woodville's bowlers for just 50. Let's see what Day 2 brings next week.
LO1: Another dominant batting performance from Shankey Jood (75) with help from Sandeep Bhaskar (46) helped us reach 7/224 from our 40 overs against Mawson Lakes. In reply, our bowlers got the job done in just 36.5 overs with Mawson Lakes all out for 190. Najeb starred with 3/23 off 6.5 overs.
LO2: Unfortunately couldn't get a side up for our match against Blue Brigade and we had to forfeit.
Under 15s: What a nailbiting win it was over Athelstone, defending 100 to bowl their opponents out for 97! Jayden top-scored with 32, while Cooper was the pick of the bowlers, with amazing figures of 4/6 from 8 overs. Our first outing with the new Frogbox streaming platform was a great success and we hope our supporters who can't get to the game will now enjoy watching the boys from home.
JUNIORS
🏏 U10 White: First game of the season for our littlest cricketers and they had a great time against North Haven. Oscar top-scored with 7, while Archer made 5 off his 15 balls faced. Alby was terrific with the ball, taking 3 wickets from his 2 overs. A terrific team effort by all our players.
🏏 U10 Black: Playing away against Grange, the kids hit plenty of runs to reach a team total of 105, with Piper top-scoring on 9 and both Tommy and Jed scoring 6 runs. Best of the bowlers were Patrick with 2/8 off 3 and Tommy rounding out a great individual game with 2/9 off his 3 overs. Well done to all the kids!
🏏 U12: A terrific start to the season with a convincing win over North Haven, scoring 0/164 off 25 overs. Best with the bat were Harley (28) and Lucas (20). A pretty even spread of wickets with Harley, Joseph, Shay, Tex and Rushani all taking one each, while Jackson had figures of 2/7 off 3 overs.
🏏 U14: In round 2 for our under 14s, we proved too strong for North Haven, bowling them out for 50, while posting 8/143 from 27.1 overs. Austin starred with an unbeaten 37* and Jaxon added a lovely 32. Another spread of wickets with Lachlan, Austin, Oliver and Bradley all taking 2 each, while Jaxon and Isaac chipped in with 1 apiece.
Well done to all our players, coaches and volunteers for another weekend representing Port District!
