In a big deal for grassroots Motorsport, Kayo Sports will be televising the weekend from 10am both days 😎

After a little break in race meetings…. The big one is here, EXCEL NATIONALS! 🥳
This week we head to South Australia along with some of the best Excel drivers in the country to enter in the masters category.

The car came off the track fast at the last outing, keen to jump in the rocket again 😎

Apologies on the late update of last weekends race, Technology failure 📱 🔨 💀

Sunday race 2
Out of 6th, we made a good start in a hectic pack to slot into p5, swapping positions several times for 4th until we had a snap of understeer in turn 6, dropping 2 wheels into the scorched South Australian dirt, conceding back to 7.th.
2 laps remaining, we regained lost ground up to the car in front hoping to work together, sadly the car in front exited stage left through the series of right handers over the back leaving a large gap to the battle pack, crossing the finish in 6th.

Final race 3, the temperature had risen making the track surface different again.
Our start wasn’t as good as usual but managed to slot into 5th in lap 1.
Settling into a groove mid race let us set up a pass using the slipstream & side draught along the main straight. By now our front tyres had to succumb to a little extra punishment & beginning to feel like a summers day soft serve. 🍦.
With 3 mins to go, we were passed on the inside by a hard charger coming through the field. We slowed the car up early into the next corner to get the switchback bringing us along side each other. Unfortunately having the next corner approach quickly, our cars touched trying to occupy the same piece of bitumen sending the other car sideways into the grass, bringing out the safety car until chequered flag.
Not the way we wanted the race to finish, never the less, position 4 in the final.

The car was on point & did everything & more we had wished for all weekend.
Aaron stepped up his driving a notch, exceeding his expectations.
The international circuit got a 5 star review even with a higher degree of difficulty.

Day 1 in the bag 😎
Earlier start to the day had us qualifying in close to ideal conditions finding time as the session went on. Managed 8th out of a 19 car masters field.

Come race 1, the South Australian weather turned up the heat ☀️. We made a ripper start, making positions before the 1st corner.
We settled in a 3 car pack, swapping positions several times. Knowing where our car was fastest, we capitalised and made a 2 car pass in last few laps to cross the line in 6th 👌

Tomorrow we have two races to try and climb that ladder and give it our all 💪

Earlier this week, we left Victoria bound for Shell V-Power Motorsport Park to enter the South Australia Motor racing championship round 1 on the international track 🥳
This clockwise layout has a bit of everything, long straight, sharp corner, some elevation & a roller coaster series of right turns 🌪️

A bumper field of 41 cars have entered, including 18 other masters class we will be battling out with.

The weekends meeting will be broadcast live via YouTube on the bends channel.

Sandown turned up the heat in the final race of the weekend 🔥
starting out of position 10, we had a mission on our hands.
With a few laps under the belt on the approach to turn 6, we had a car either side of us going into fastest corner of the circuit. We played it safe pulling out of the group dropping 2 spots but didn’t let them go. Charging hard out of the final corner, we had a slip stream advantage, using this to sling it up the inside & regain positions.
Still pushing hard, we had a big loose coming out of turn 4 narrowly missing the wall with the back of the car. Never the the less, regaining focus in the closing minutes.
Cross the line in position 10 to secure P8 on points for the weekend.
We couldn’t be more chuffed for a faultless weekend & one of the best drives to date.

Started out of P11 this morning. Made a mega start to keep it in the front pack. Tho it was early, conditions were hot 🥵. We had some clean air in front and behind us most of the race
With some driver and car adjustments before the race, we crossed the line in position 10! Couldn’t be happier 😊

What a day 🥵.
43 cars hit the track for qualifying this morning after a hour delay. Our lap timer decided to have a meltdown on lap one so it was eyes forward.
Traffic was thick but made the most of what time we had. P13 🥳

Race one we made a great start making up some positions only to be blocked in at turn 1 like a Kmart car park on Christmas Eve.
From turn 4 until the finish of the race we were at the front of a pack of cars having to defend for position crossing the line in P11 😎.

Victoria turned on the warm weather with higher temps tomorrow. Keen for a rest ready for race 2 tomorrow at 9:35.
