The Great Launceston Treasure Hunt

Hi everyone, my apologies for the lack of updates and events for quite some time now. Life definitely got in the way and I'll be doing my best to have something up and running for December. Thanks for all your kind messages.

Sorry if I've not said this here to everyone but I won't be able to hold The Great Launceston Treasure Hunt this holidays. I'm in a legal battle with a dodgy landlord and have been essentially homeless for the last month (mostly in crisis accommodation) so haven't been able to get organised in time. I'll be holding a bunch of smaller events leading up to the mid-year school holidays and another big treasure hunt then.

Thank you for all your support and enthusiasm for my kooky idea to get people out and about and loving this city I love so much ❤️

Hi everyone, I'm worried I might have left it too late to organise this year's treasure hunt - is there enough time left for people to contribute in the form of rocks or ideas for treasure hunting hijinks?? I want to do some weekly challenges and prizes this time to mix things up a little bit and give even more people a chance to win.

Hi everyone, life got busy the past few days and I haven't been able to organise everyone's prizes yet, this will be happening tomorrow and I will contact everyone to advise when they are ready.

Hi everyone!! Thanks for joining in on the second Great Launceston Treasure Hunt. We've had a lot of entries so it will take a little while to tally everything up and get prizes out, we will announce the winners of the competition next Tuesday 1st August with prizes available the next day.

So I've had a lot of messages and comments on the treasure hunt posts saying people can't find the rocks - way too many. Unfortunately we've realised that someone is out there actively trying to ruin everybody's fun and this event I've put on only for the benefit of others by *stealing* the rocks.

We thought we were being paranoid at first - the rocks are super cute and who wouldn't want to take one home - but then the businesses we left rocks in started contacting us with the same description of two individuals who were stealing the rocks from their stores.

This is truly disappointing as this event is run purely by volunteers, and the artists and business participating have generously given their time to make it as fun as possible. We don't make any money out of this, we do it purely out of the love of our city and to share that love with others.

All that being said, if YOU have not been able to find any rocks despite getting out there and searching for them (and I know a lot of you have) then send me a message and I will give you TEN free entries into our amazing prize draw.

We're truly sorry that two people have tried to ruin this fun, holiday experience for everyone else but rest assured that their behaviour has not dampened my enthusiasm for the next treasure hunt at Xmas - Treasure Hunt 3 in 2023!!!
