This is George.
George came to me (well his mother did) and asked if I could help George.
George had ambitions to join the Navy but unfortunately, he wasn't reaching the markers required to gain entry, especially the beep test.
So basically I devised a program to first help him with his specific goal of getting to the beep test mark required.
The thing I found with George was that one of the the real things that was holding him back was not just physical but mental.
To be honest, I could see that George had an inner determination to succeed, but he just didn't realise his potential and what he could achieve.
I worked on helping him get physically better, but I also needed to help George understand his potential and what he could do. I challenged George but only to what he was actually capable of, even though he doubted what he could actually do.
In short, the great news George achieved his goal and is now on the mainland training in the Navy.
In this video that George and his mum are very kind with words, but to be honest, the credit is to George. He could have given up but he didn't and he worked hard, was diligent with his training and In front of me I could see his confidence and inner belief grow.
Unfortunately, George's story, fears, lack of confidence, and self-belief are very common. I do want George's story to inspire others who may have a goal to get fitter and improve their health for their own personal outcomes.
The one thing I said to George right from the start and I believe this can relate to everyone who has doubts.
"It doesn't matter where you start your journey, be proud that you're starting and believe in the inner strength and determination that you have. You are stronger than you think and if you keep focused on your goal you will achieve it"
If your story is similar to George's and you need some help please reach out. If I cannot help I certainly will steer you in the right direction.

Tip No 6: Reduce stressors or find better ways to manage stress.
Losing weight is not just about diet and exercise. Stress can also play a significant role in weight gain. Unresolved trauma, stress, and emotional baggage can be held within the body, making it difficult to lose weight. Stress negatively impacts liver inflammation, leading to a sluggish metabolism, toxin buildup, and fat storage.
Stress causes the release of cortisol, which can remain elevated if stress is chronic. Cortisol is an appetite stimulant, leading to excess calorie consumption and weight gain, typically around the midsection.
A 2015 study showed metabolism slows down under stress.
Unresolved negative emotions, especially stress, make it difficult for the body to enter the relaxed parasympathetic state, making weight loss challenging.
Foundational practices of balancing hormones and blood sugar, releasing negative emotions, prioritizing sleep and rest, and gently detoxifying the body and environment can help move the body into a healthier state and promote weight loss.
Consistency over perfection is key, and small decisions to prioritize health and wellbeing can lead to significant improvements in overall health and weight loss over time.

Tip no. 5 - Movement
Stop Pushing Harder: The Surprising Way to Achieve Weight Loss Results
Are you pushing yourself to the limit with intense workouts but still not seeing the results you want? If you're struggling with thyroid dysfunction or hormonal imbalances, this approach could be doing more harm than good. In fact, it could be causing plateaus or even weight gain!
The solution? Pull back on the intensity and opt for gentle, daily movement instead. Walking, stretching, pilates, and yoga are all great options to get your body into a relaxed state, which is crucial for weight loss. If you do have higher intensity workouts, make sure to buffer them with lower intensity days.
Don't let chronic cortisol production and exhaustion hold you back any longer. Give your body the rest it needs and watch the weight loss results come naturally.

Here are a few ways to gently support liver detoxification as well as lower your overall toxic burden:
1. Switch to glass and stainless steel in the kitchen instead of plastic.
2. Swap out conventional personal care products, cleaning products, skincare, and makeup for non-toxic alternatives. Here’s my full list of favorites that I personally use.
3. Rid the home of candles, air fresheners, and other fragrances.
4. Eat plenty of cooked, sulfur-rich vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts.
5. Consume “bitter” greens such as dandelion and mustard greens.
6. Drink beet kvass daily.
7. Let go of negativity, which is largely toxic to the liver and the entire body.
8. Cut processed foods, inflammatory vegetables, and seed oils, and added sugars out of the diet.
