NEWS: A Home Affairs c**t offered by Armidale Stud topped a strong opening day of the Great Southern Weanling Sale at Oaklands today, selling for $330,000.
Tamworth trainer Mel O’Gorman and her partner Duncan McRae teamed up with close friend James Carolan to secure the c**t (ex Myhro) in what was a “life changing’’ result for the Tasmanian nursery Armidale.
“You can breed a life-changing horse or you can own a life-changing horse and something like this is huge for us,’’ Armidale’s David Whishaw said.

Alpine Eagle Doubles Up at Devonport
Armidale Stud stallion Alpine Eagle enjoyed another successful day on the track at Devonport on Sunday, siring a winning double through Alpine Blast and Alpine Trout.
The John Blacker-trained Alpine Blast added another victory to his consistent career record, taking his tally to 10 wins from 83 starts, while also boasting 22 placings.
Later on the card, the Barry Campbell-trained Alpine Trout broke through for the third win of his career, further enhancing the stallion's impressive weekend results.
The double adds to Alpine Eagle's growing reputation as one of Tasmania's most reliable sources of winners, with both victories highlighting the durability and toughness that have become hallmarks of his progeny.
Alpine Eagle stands at Armidale Stud in Carrick and continues to make his mark on the Tasmanian racing scene through the performances of his offspring.
