Ledge Point return trip to Collie this weekend saw 20 people make the trip, with a great time hosted by Collie. A beautiful day for Fridays 9 holes which saw Angela Ireland 19 pts win the Collie section from Clayton Flynn 18 pts. Ledge Points Mel cooper was the champ with 21 pts. Saturday saw young Knox Hull’s win with 40 pts. Ledge Points winner was John Abbott 36 pts. Meanwhile in Ledge Point on a nice weather day for our esteemed life members trophy’s from Denis Mannix & Olga Nye saw Tracy Howes have a win with 37 pts from Frank Condo 34 pts C/B from Ian Fewster 34 pts. A huge thank Collie for a great few days & your awesome hospitality & also a huge thank you Denis & Olga.

A magnificent spring day for golf today at Ledge Point & we have some players at the moment in some real form. The day was sponsored by the Bidet boys all 7 of them whose moto is “we never wipe a hole”. Generously sponsored after many board meetings over a few beers to formalise their day. John Bellantoni take a bow from taking out the double with scroungers & today’s winnings with 41 pts & continuing on from previous weeks, same as Jan Wilson with her 40 pts, another player in form Mike Gould with 39 pts. Naga on a countback went to Thomas Pemberton which will be a perpetual trophy in the new shed. Thank you to all the Bidet boys who also sponsor individually. Thanks fellas.
Today’s members draw went off $300 to Scott Rowson.

What a few days it’s been for the Ledge Point Ladies, our member in Loraine Metcalfe won the Central West Coast Ladies Championship with Lee Hunter runner up & with a stand in team member also won the gross team event. Well done Loraine.
46 players for the 7th Championship round sponsored by John Abbott & Rod Finch. Some great scores but none better than the ladies winner Lee Hunter with a 61 nett (74 gross) B grade winner was Jan Wilson with 72 nett. Men’s winner with a 70 nett was Mike Gould, B grade winner was Greg Miller on 68 nett & C grade winner Richard Teague 73 nett. Sponsors were extremely generous with 12 novelties. Pot of gold winner was young Harris Hunter in his first official competition. Thanks Large & Finchy, very much appreciated.

What a club we have with the work done by our members, Terry & Greg with the shed, Pete Philpott & family with the wall, our great ground staff, all our volunteers, great job. Speaking of Philpott’s, Lesley played great golf to win the day with 39 pts, from Nuan Keddie 37 pts and Al Harris 36 pts who had a chance of winning, took out 3rd spot. Naga was won by Coralie Corich who just made it in time for golf today. Huge thank you to Ian Fewster for his sponsorship today. Unfortunately Lyn Newman wasn’t present for the members draw, $250 next week.

Flannel day at Ledge Point today in memory of our late esteemed & popular member Pete Corich. A friend to many & sorely missed. Coralie along with Al & Fran Thompson sponsored a 4BBB which saw 38 people playing for their generous sponsorship. Some great scores with Pete & Lesley Philpott taking the honours with 47 pts on a count-back from Pete Callow & Nuan Keddie 47 pts, 3rd was Darryl Howes & June Gooch & rounding out the prizes for 4th Mike Gould & Joe Pardo 45 pts. A mention to Darren Green that took out 3 of the 4 novelties. The members draw has jack potted to $200 next week, as Royce Spencer was drawn but not in attendance. Thank you Coralie, Al & Fran.

Magnificent Winters day, a warm 24 degrees with 50 players for the popular Stableford event for Kevin Bloody Wilson.
Some great scores saw a three way count-back with John Bellantoni taking the major prize with 38 points, from Al Harris 38 pts & rounding out the count-back Linda Ellis 38 pts. Fourth was David Low with 36 pts. Thank you Kev & Betty for your day & the usual entrainment after the game. Our members draw Jack potted again, Robert Nichevich was drawn but not present. Next week is Flannel day, 4BBB.
A sign erected for our long time life member Denis Mannix, who now has a walk dedicated for his work for the golf club, still doing the important role of retic. Thank you Denis.

Difficult conditions today at Ledge point with an extremely cold & cyclonic wind which didn’t deter 40 players (20 teams) for a 2 person Ambrose. Captain Marty Byrnes & Guilderton’s Emmie Wright took out the major prize with a 64.25 nett from Rob Pearson & Scott Rowson 69 nett, 3rd place Ian Arblaster & Mike Gould 70 nett. Naga went to Lesley Philpott & Jan Wilson. Thanks to Mike Burke for his continued sponsorship & support.
Our members draw will Jackpot to $100 next week, Marg Harrington name was drawn out who wasn’t present.

Championship Round saw another nice winters day with 42 players vying for the fantastic prizes from our generous sponsors, Clive & Linda Ellis & Steve Forrest & Jan Wilson. A bit of wind for Ledge Point standards but some good golf played, Men’s nett winner Geoff Mitchell 70 nett, from Steve Denninston whose finding some form with 71 nett, rounding out the 3rd place & also gross & the best of the Championship round, Michael Paterson with a 71 nett but more impressively 73 off the stick.
Ladies scores were outstanding with the score of the day Tracy Howes 69 nett, from Lesley Philpott 71 & evergreen June Gooch 72 nett. Lee Hunter managed the Ladies gross with 86.
Our first members draw saw Patto collect the $50, which is on offer every week for our 205 golf club members. Thank-you sponsors . Pot of gold winner Gavin Carson, not to mention NAGA Jeremy Cook.

A magnificent winters day in Ledge Point today, a slight breeze around 20 degrees saw 33 players for the Philpott’s Par event. Rod Finch blew the field away with +6, followed by Coralie Corich +4, Peter Gee won on a count back from Bill Hunter +2. Plenty of novelties on offer & also the dreaded Naga, which Kevin Wigg picked up with -13. Thanks to Pete & Lesley for their sponsorship & their valued work at the club. Also Aces hole in one recognition from last October.
