WAFL RE-SIGNINGS

We are delighted to announce that four of our experienced campaigners are back for another season with the Mighties in 2027!

Scott Jones will suit up again in 2027 after a consistent 2026 season which saw him recognised by both our Members as their Most Valuable Royal, along with his teammates as the recipient of the Jeremy Silcock League Trademark Award. Scott reached the 150 WAFL Games milestone in 2026 and has served as League Vice-Captain in recent seasons. We look forward to seeing Jonesy back in 2027!

Stan Wright has clocked up 140 games in East Perth colours since his debut in 2017 and remains as passionate as anyone about representing the Mighty Royals. Stan also earned his second WAFL State Team selection in 2026. Widely regarded as one of the best kicks in the competition, we’re excited to see Stan lacing out teammates again in 2027.

Liam Tedesco had a fantastic 2026 season which saw him finish 2nd in the F.D. Book Medal despite playing only 13 games. A highly respected teammate who relishes the contest, Liam has become one of the Royals’ most reliable players since joining the club ahead of the 2023 season, and we’re sure this will continue in 2027.

Brad Fullgrabe was a joint winner of the Best Clubman Award this year, a strong reflection of the esteem in which he is held throughout the club. After a tough run with injuries, Brad made a popular return to the League team in Round 20 and went on to play in our first two finals, performing strongly against some of the competition’s best key forwards. We look forward to him carrying this momentum into 2027!

WAFLW RE-SIGNING

We’re thrilled to announce that Elly Sara, Meg Brown, Tash Spurr and Brooke Edwards have all re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

Elly continues to set the standard, with back-to-back Best & Fairest awards and a deep connection to the club as a Father-Daughter player. Meg has brought experience and leadership in her first season in the blue and black, while Tash has added genuine speed and class across the wing since arriving from the Falcons. Brooke has cemented herself as one of the premier rucks in the competition and continues to grow as a leader within our group.

Every strong list is built on players who commit, compete and make those around them better. These four embody what it means to be a Royal.

We can’t wait to see what Elly, Meg, Tash and Brooke bring in 2027!

#24 Elly Sara

Elly Sara has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

A back-to-back Best & Fairest winner, Elly continues to be one of the most consistent and respected players at the club. As a Father-Daughter player, she bleeds black and blue and represents everything we stand for. After another outstanding season, we’re thrilled to have Elly continuing her journey with the Royals.

#20 Meg Brown

Meg Brown has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

Meg joined the blue and black in 2026 after winning a Best on Ground medal in the 2025 PFL A Grade Grand Final. Her experience and leadership have been invaluable for the group, both on and off the field. While injury cut her season short, we’re excited to see what Meg can bring in 2027 with a full pre-season behind her.

#30 Tash Spurr

Tash Spurr has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

After making the move from the Falcons, Tash hasn’t missed a beat. Her speed and ability to break games open from the wing were a highlight of the season. Another player whose year was interrupted by injury, the club is looking forward to supporting Tash through her rehab this off-season and seeing her return stronger for 2027.

#26 Brooke Edwards

Brooke Edwards has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

There’s no one better in the ruck. Our Northern Star has become one of the premier rucks i

WAFL RE-SIGNINGS 👑

We are excited to announce that André Gulluni, Jayden Peak, Jordyn Baker and Coby Burgiel have all committed to 2-year contract extensions with the club!

André made his League debut this year and went on to play six games including two finals, where his speed and energy added some excitement in the forward half.

With another big preseason under his belt, we’re looking forward to seeing André take his game to another level over the next two years.

Jayden experienced a breakout season this year, playing 17 games including all three finals, and taking out the League Coaches Award.

A high-energy player with electric speed, Jayden brings plenty of pressure and we look forward to seeing him continue to cause havoc for opposition teams over the next two years.

Jordyn unfortunately missed almost the entire 2026 season after suffering a serious knee injury in Round 1.

Jordyn’s strong finish to the 2025 season and a very encouraging 2026 preseason prior to injury have us excited to see him back out on the field over the next two years and bringing his ability to break lines and drive the team forward.

Coby continues to build experience at the level, having registered his 50th WAFL League game in this year’s finals series.

A talented and highly skilful player, we enjoyed seeing Coby spend more time through the midfield in 2026 while still maintaining his ability to hit the scoreboard and we’re keen to see him continue to grow his game over the next two years.

WAFLW COACHING GROUP ANNOUCEMENT

The club is pleased to announce that Matt Townsend will move into the WAFLW coaching group as an Assistant Coach following two years leading our Rogers Cup program.

During his time as Rogers Cup Coach, Matt has shown outstanding dedication and commitment to developing our players and building a strong program.

He has worked closely with our Southwest players and has been a major driver behind the growth and success of our Southwest Academy, which continues to expand.

Matt’s contribution to the Rogers girls has been significant, and we thank him for the time, effort, and passion he has invested into the program. His leadership, knowledge, and commitment have played an important role in the development of our players and pathway.

We look forward to seeing Matt take on this new challenge within our WAFLW coaching group and continuing to contribute to the club’s growth and success.

WAFLW RE-SIGNING 💙🖤

We’re thrilled to announce that Taylor Drummond, Codi Thompson, Jordyn McRae and Mya Murphy have all re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

Taylor brings goals and leadership to our forward line, Codi has a voice the group listens to, Jordyn can play at either end of the ground, and Mya steps up to WAFLW after captaining our Rogers Cup program for two seasons.

Every strong list is built on players who turn up, work hard and make those around them better. These four do exactly that.

We can’t wait to see what Taylor, Codi, Jordyn and Mya bring in 2027!

#36 Taylor Drummond

Taylor Drummond has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

Taylor was our leading goalkicker in 2025 and has become a real leader in our forward line. She knows where the goals are, organises those around her and leads by example inside 50. Having her back gives our young forwards someone to learn from every week.

#33 Codi Thompson

Codi Thompson has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

Codi made her WAFLW debut in 2026 and quickly showed she belongs. She has a great voice on the field and a natural leadership quality that lifts the group. With a full season of League football under her belt, we’re excited to see what she does next.

#8 Mya Murphy

Mya Murphy has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

Mya is a true product of our program. She captained our Rogers Cup side in 2025 and 2026, and has developed into a composed and reliable half back. Her leadership has been on show at every level, and now it’s time to see what she can do in the WAFLW.

#37 Jordyn McRae

Jordyn McRae has re-signed with the Royals for the 2027 season.

Jordyn made the move from Perth during the 2026 season and has given us plenty of flexibility. She can hold down a role in defence and has also tried her hand as a key position forward. Players who can do both are gold for any coach.

WAFL- LOCKED IN FOR 2027 💙🖤

As we prepare to start announcing our re-signings for the 2027 WAFL Season, we first acknowledge Luke Foley, Darcy Craven and Hamish Brayshaw who head into the second year of their existing contracts with the club.

Luke arrived at East Perth ahead of the 2026 season and quickly established himself as a key component of our defensive group, registering a 3rd Place finish in the F.D. Book Medal. Luke added plenty both on and off the field in his first season in blue & black, and we look forward to that continuing in 2027.

Darcy returned to the club 12 months ago after a stint on Brisbane’s AFL list and played every game in 2026 as a small forward capable of pushing up through the midfield. Still only 22 years of age, we are excited to see what Darcy can bring in his second season back with the Royals.

Hamish continues to lead the club with distinction as one of our co-captains. He demonstrated his resilience and professionalism by returning ahead of schedule from mid-season hamstring surgery to play an important role in the 2026 finals series, and we look forward to Hamish carrying this momentum into Season 2027.

WAFLW RE-SIGNING 🖤💙

We’re thrilled to announce another four re-signs for our WAFLW program. Elissa Price, Stef Stack, Holly Touchell and Hannah Trusso have all committed to a two-year extension, keeping them at the club through to 2028.

Elissa joined the Royals ahead of the 2026 season from West Perth and made an instant impact, kicking two goals in our Round 1 comeback win over Peel. A great forward and a natural goal kicker, she kicked nine goals and took 32 marks across her last 10 games, including three goals against her old club in Round 9.

A proud product of our talent pathway from Ellenbrook, Stef goes about her work quietly, but when the moment calls for it she gets herself into position and takes the game on. She laid 25 tackles across six WAFLW games this season, including 14 disposals and six tackles against eventual minor premiers Swan Districts in Round 11.

Holly is a steady and consistent player who does her job week in, week out. Playing as a ruck-forward, she kicked five goals in six WAFLW games to go with 22 hitouts, including two goals against East Fremantle in Round 15.

Hannah is a calm presence on the field who covers plenty of ground. She took 21 marks and laid 25 tackles across her last 10 games, with a standout effort of 13 disposals and six marks against Claremont in Round 12.

Having all four commit for the next two seasons continues to add real depth to our group as we build on and off the field.

We can’t wait to see what Elissa, Stef, Holly and Hannah achieve over the next two years!

WELCOME BACK, JESS

A familiar face is returning to the Royals for 2027!

After being drafted mid-season last year, Jess was lucky enough to take the opportunity to play AFLW with Essendon, where she gained valuable experience at the highest level.

A huge addition, a big presence and plenty of experience, we can’t wait to see Jess back out there with the Royals!

Female football manager Tara Williams- “We are incredibly excited to welcome Jess back to the Royals. As the club’s first-ever AFLW signing, Jess holds a special place in our history, and her decision to return shows great belief in what we are building.”

“We look forward to seeing Jess back in the blue and black, where she will bring invaluable leadership, a strong high-performance mindset, and a wealth of experience that will continue to benefit our playing group.”

Please give her a warm welcome home! 🥹🫶
