I call it "Dolly Lama." π Her famous quote "We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails," unintentionally captures the Buddhist concept of radical acceptance (Tathata). Meaning, if the wind represents the external world and the inevitable hardships that we all endure but cannot control, trying to fight the wind only causes suffering. The way out of suffering is to adjust the sails, meaning we shift our internal state by practicing mindfulness and responding to the present moment with composure and acceptance.
