Woorayl Golf Club

Woorayl Golf Club Woorayl Golf Club is located within the Leongatha Recreation Reserve in the centre of the small town of Leongatha in South Gippsland.

The golf course comprises 9 well laid out holes with some bunkers and water hazards adding to the difficulty. Regular competition days are Wednesdays (Ladies Day), Thursdays and Saturdays. A 9-hole "Chook Run" competition is held every Thursday during daylight savings. In addition to these there are open competition days throughout the year on most public holidays along with a 5 day Annual Tournament in March each year. Visitors are very welcome at Woorayl with a modest green fee charged per day, regardless of the number of holes they play. The club itself boasts a proud pennant history in the South Gippsland Disctrict Golf Association with many Pennant Flags decorating the walls of the clubhouse.

We played a different format today……..Par. Sponsored by Sherrill Winkler. We had 11 Ladies contest for victory. Our golf course is looking great, thanks to Greg and all the volunteers, for all the work they do. The winner of today was Sharyn Rayson +1, Runner up was Heather Sullivan -2. BDL: Bev Bridge -4, Kath Davis -4. NTP’s ⛳️8th Kath Davis, 11th Pauline Lancaster, 17th Janet Thompson. We welcomed back Pauline Lancaster after being up North for a couple of Months. Have a good week, enjoy whatever you do🌻

10 Ladies played a Stableford event, sponsored by Suck It Up with thanks. It was extremely cold and we had some showers. The winner of this event was Janet Thompson with 32pts, runner up was Jean Hayes 31pts. BDL: Sharyn Rayson 28pts, Sherrill Winkler 27pts. ⛳️NTP’s 8th & 11th Jean Hayes, 17th Janet Thompson. 🦃Gobblers Jean Hayes 16th, Jenny Riseley 18th. It was Sherrill Winklers Birthday and we all shared a yummy carrot cake 🎂. Hi all, today 10 Ladies played stroke and count your putts for September Monthly Medal, sponsored with thanks by Harvest Lane. Today’s weather was lovely and the course is looking amazing, thanks to all who help to make look so great. Bev Bridge with 101-31-70 is the September Monthly Medalist. Runner up was Jean Hayes 97-26-71. BDL: Sherrill Winkler 76, Jo Fennell 78. The putting with 30 putts was Bev Bridge. NTP’s⛳️Ann Poole 8th & 17th, Jenny Riseley 11th. 🦃Marg Tuckett 16th. 🐦‍⬛Jean Hayes & Ann Poole. It was nice to catch up today with our golfing family after being away with them last week.
