🏋️‍♂️CLIENT PROFILE 🏋️‍♂️ Star client Brandon here, shown with a fairly smooth double at 300kg, on the machine angled leg press. This wasn't even the final set. In a bit over 2 months, Brandon's made great strides in improving his technique on the squat, bench, deadlift and assistance exercises like the leg press. Even more than the increase in raw numbers, his ability to move heavy weight, with control, through a greater range of motion has progressed nicely. Sky's the limit for his strength potential, and with careful, progressive training, anybody can exceed their prior bests. 🌀What bought you to Fosfit?
I like supporting local families in business, I like the selection of equipment, the price is fair, plus having 24/7 access has been great at certain points in my working life. I also work in Evans Head so it’s handy to have access to two gyms. I've always tried to stay fit & making a commitment to a gym membership helps me stay on track.

🌀 Current fitness goals?
I was working towards a deadlift of 170kgs which I just hit! That was within 12 weeks of starting PT with
I'm now working on a bench press of 100kgs & I'm currently cutting weight to 75kgs.

I've lost 10kgs so far, 2.5kgs to go! ✅

🌀 What helps you stay motivated?
Having my weekly PT session booked helps me stay accountable and sets my week of training up. Recording my progress on each lift, body weight & calories daily keeps me stay focused.

🌀 What do you enjoy about training with Fosfit?
I know alot of people here, there's a good choice of equipment, very accessible time wise and easy parking.

ROMANIAN DEADLIFTS By far my favourite lift for building overall posterior chain ⛓️ mass. Safety considerations: There is merit to the idea of getting more out of less weight by letting the bar drift away from your centre of gravity. That said, the closer you keep the bar to your shins, the less stress you'll place on your lower back. Find your own sweet spot and make sure you keep your abs braced tight regardless And like with any other hip hinge, the butt goes back 🔙, the lower back doesn't bend. Focus on the stretch on the hammies 🦵 to see how low you wanna go, and if your lower back dips, so will the stretch 👎. Lateral Raises 💪

📐 LATERAL RAISES📐 If you're trying to hit the sides of your shoulders/deltoids, without the traps taking over, you have to adjust your grip. One technique is to have the hands turn inwards slightly, so that when the dumbbells are raised to the sides, it looks like your hands are pouring a cup 🍶 of water. If your shoulder joint doesn't feel great with that technique, try this alternative in the video above ☝️: - Turn your hands outwards so your thumbs are slightly above your pinkies when viewed from the side - Keeping a straight back, lean forward until your chest is over your toes. Hold this partial hinge while keeping the abs tight - Perform the lateral raise to shoulder height, with a controlled lowering phase. Because of your body and hands' positioning, you should feel the invisible line of your side delts light up. ☝️PULL UPS☝️ Having a hard time feeling your lats and upper back during a pullup? Might be due to your chest position Try pulling your scapula back, your shoulder blades together, and your chest pointing up. Lots more back activation that way, and aiming to get your chest to the bar instead of just chin over bar makes each rep more productive. Consequently, pointing your chest down like in the second slide de-emphasizes the back muscles to a degree, and even though I was still using them I could feel my biceps a lot more. Try both, see what feels best for the parts of your body you're trying to bias. And especially what feels comfortable on the joints @fosfithealthcentres #pullups #scapularpullups #calisthenics
