Our lifeguards are trained to supervise the pool and respond in emergencies, but parents and carers play the most important role in keeping children safe around water.

When visiting our venue, stay close, stay engaged, and keep your focus on children in and around the water, at all times. By working together, we can help create a safer and more enjoyable aquatic experience for everyone.

We're excited to share that a major Health Club upgrade is coming to Whitlam Leisure Centre.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our community's health and happiness, we'll be renovating the Health Club and installing brand-new fitness equipment to create a more modern, welcoming and enjoyable training experience for our members.

To make these exciting improvements possible, the Health Club's final day of trading will be 4 September 2026. The Health Club will then temporarily close from 5 September 2026 while renovation works and equipment installation take place. We currently anticipate reopening on Tuesday 6 October 2026, and we'll confirm the reopening date closer to completion.

Members who choose to keep their membership active will continue to enjoy access to:

✔️ Michael Wenden Aquatic Leisure Centre Health Club
✔️ Michael Clarke Recreation Centre Health Club
✔️ Group Exercise classes at Whitlam Leisure Centre
✔️ Aqua classes at Whitlam Leisure Centre will continue as scheduled
Group Exercise classes will continue throughout the Health Club upgrade period, with only minor changes to the current timetable. Our updated schedule is currently being finalised and will be released soon.

If you'd prefer not to use the alternative facilities during the upgrade period, you can place your membership on a free suspension until the Health Club reopens. Simply complete the form below to request a suspension.

Important: If you'd like to keep your membership active, no action is required. Your membership will remain active and continue as normal during the closure period, including access to Michael Wenden Aquatic Leisure Centre, Michael Clarke Recreation Centre, Group Exercise classes at Whitlam Leisure Centre and Aqua classes at Whitlam Leisure Centre. Memberships will not be automatically suspended.

We understand a temporary closure may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your support as we invest in the future of your Health Club.
