We just did a new personal board basalt/eglass hybrid cloth EPS core. And just thought let’s play with fin placement as we have so many different templates with . When Simon made the thruster most fins were dolphin style, has the new templates changed this set up? Could a reverse thruster work? .beloug any thoughts? Showing in the Hanalei range A3, WTF2, NRG centre fin, q2 500 and QB2 425. ❓

This brand-new design utilizes our BLENDED-WING tech to deliver a fin with remarkable performance.

This new design is a high-performance fin that handles various conditions. It features our PHAT FOILS and HOLOFOILS, along with the BLENDED-WING allowing for more efficient HOLOFOILS.

This design takes our elliptical outline and adds a more distinctive tip at the trailing edge to improve feel. With the use of the BLENDED-WING profile, the tip of the fin is a lot thinner, allowing for more flex and speed. The design of all of the fins in this range features a more balanced area for improved drive through all parts of a turn.

The designs feature moderate rake in order to balance the projection with the drive. The larger versions of the series are ideal for use as either twin fins or twinzer setups when coupled with our CNRD canard templates.

All of the fins in this range utilize the BLENDED-WING concept for increased responsiveness. The design of the series employs a base-forward focus, which means that as the fins increase in size, the area moves forward. So the back of the fin at the base is always pinned to the back of the base.

Initially, the following templates will make up this series—BW-400, BW-500 and BW-550. The remaining templates will be added later in the year. All sizes are available on the website

Update on the KFC board - ridden a few times now and will be passing on to the next rider to hopefully get some video.

First surf was interesting- with the floatation of the fins as you were going down the wave it would lift the back of the board up and take off at speed so much so you had to change take off stance or you fell off the back with the acceleration! Started without the stabiliser fin but during this session the size of the surf increased- it was holding in fine up to 2 foot but as it got bigger needed the stabiliser. Held its rail fine and speed but had to change turning to bigger arcs - it was a bit of fun!
Hopefully will get more feedback and a video soon 🤙

With the impending price increase coming on paints - it’s time to start looking at our airbrush / spray gun range of paints and see if we can do our own to keep the prices resonable- this is our first sample test. Colour coverage was good, drying time better than the brands we stock.. can be used on eps (foam safe) though slightly too thick consistency at the moment to spray straight from the bottle. Next step - get consistency right, and then colour range - a good range of normal colours, fluorescents and a couple of metallics..
