BDLGA Country Day 18 September 2026

The Brisbane and District Ladies Golf Association held their annual country day event at Lowood this year. 68 ladies from 13 clubs played a 4 person team event today and enjoyed lunch afterwards.

Great day had by all. Thank you to the B&D committee and to Sharon and her helpers for all the work that went into making this event successful and enjoyable.

Good evening fellow golfers and interested parties, today the club played a 4BBB Stableford, with some good scores recorded, buth there was none better than Vic Bales and Greg Hair, who came home with 47 points to take a well deserved win.
Runners-Up were Bruce Lowe and Pat Dwyer with 45 points.
The ball rundown went to 43 points, and it was Bevan Victor and Des Sippel who took the last balls.
NTP's were won by 5: Ron Mancktelow, 11: Jake Webb, & 14: Warren Lee. Unfortunately no golfer was able to hit the green on the second hole.

Good Evening, today at Lowood, we played an Open Single Stableford, with visitors from Ipswich, Sandy Gallop, Pacific GC, and SGA.
The winner today, and with a fine score of 45 points was Lisa Sanderson, a great round Lisa, but I'm sure your handicap will be a bit lower next time you play.
Runner-Up from Sandy Gallop was Riley Connor, with 42 points on c/b from Stuart Webb Jnr.
The ball rundown went to 36, with Paul Hallet grabbibg the last ball.
NTP's went to 2: Stuart Webb Jnr, 5: Wayne Hankinson, 11: A terrific shot which was less than 1 meter from the hole, and 14 went to Paul Hallett.
Unfortunately no photo of Riley, as he had to leave due to a prior engagement.
Well done to the winners, and thank you to all the players who joined us today.

Lowood vs Brookwater at Esk Golf

Lowood faced Brookwater at Esk Golf Club in a tough-fought MDGA Pennants match.

Unfortunately, Lowood went down 4&3, with the team putting up a strong fight throughtout the day.

Individual Results:
Adam Page - Won 4&3
Vaunn - Lost 5&4
Chris Wheeler - Won 2&1
Charlie - Lost 2 down
Paul - Lost 1 down
Ken - Won 3&2

A tough result for Lowood, but plenty of positives to take from the team's effort.

Congratulations to those who got the wins, and well done to everyone for fighting hard right to the end.

Good Evening All, today Lowood GC played an open single stableford, with 61 one players taking part.
The winner with a score of 42 points was Paul Brown, following closely behind with 41 points was Peter Coles.
The ball rundown went to 35 points with Paul Morris claiming the last ball.
Nearest the pins were;
2: S Butler, 5: Cedric Gleeson, 11: Callin Overton, 14: Harry Buckley.

Today was also the final of the Pairs Matchplay, and it was Adam Page & Ken Lodder who won their match against Scott Butler & Damien Howard in a tight match where they prevailed in a 2&1 victory.
That concludes the Honour Board events for 2026, I would like to congratulate the winners, and thank all the participants who took part in the various events held this year..
