Men’s golf results 22/8/2026

This Saturday’s competition was a stableford round generously sponsored by Lucindale Haymakers. Thanks to Geoff, Todd and Geary for supporting the day and the meat trays were very well received. After some light showers in the morning the weather turned out to be fantastic for golf in the afternoon. A good crew of 21 players entered the competition and there was a couple stand out scores for the day.
Winner of the A grade was new greenskeeper Tom Bailey, who hit an excellent 37 points (74 gross). It’s great to see Tom settling into his job very nicely and now getting used to the course. Runner up on 32 points was Layton Copping. He won on a countback from Brad Gear also on 32.
Winner of the B grade was ex local Kym Price with a very handy 39 points. Thanks to him and Casey for visiting for the day, it’s always great to see new faces out on the course. Runner up with a consistent 36 points was Kevin Baker. Bakes highlight for the day was a slam dunk birdie on 16 straight out of the bunker. Other good scores went to David Cox with 35 points.
Nearest to the pin on 3 went to Geoff Smith. Geoff managed to just sneak inside Todd’s marker by a couple feet and was pretty chuffed with himself. His excitement was short lived though as he ended up 3 putting from 7 feet. From memory its not the highest amount of putts he has had on that hole after getting the nearest to pin. NTP on 12 went to Coxy with another handy driver and 16 went to Chas Gilkes who seems to win this prize most weeks. A grade progressive on the 4th was passed in this week and B grade went to Peter Stock.
On Sunday 8 Lucindale men travelled to Naracoorte for the 27 hole Dewars Cup. The weather was absolutely fantastic and the greens were slick as ever. Unfortunately the course beat a lot of us, except for Bakes who managed to win the C grade gross with 144.
This coming Saturday we have another stableford round generously sponsored by Jerry Read’s Spreading. Tee off at 11:30am. If anyone is keen to play early and watch the footy finals at Apsley after let Plugga know and we can sort out early groups.

News from Royal Adelaide Challenge Bowl - Kerry had a blinder and won the individual bronze division with 42 points. Unfortunately Jacki and Michelle were not quite up there to support her. Royal Adelaide took out 1st and 2nd - their home ground advantage came to the fore today. We were 4th overall
