With his first season of senior football now under his belt its great to announce former under 19 captain Fin Burnell will be running around Ontime Delivery Solutions Oval next season for the Cats.

With 95 Macedon Junior Football Netball Club and senior football games on the stat sheet one of footballs toughest challenges is the transition to senior football. Fin not only accepted the challenge he played 6 senior games this season and was a key part of the reserves succesful season making it to the preliminary final.

2027 will offer new challenges and we know that he is up for them.

2027 rolls around and James "Nippa" Wright will commence his 21st pre-season as a Macedon FNC senior footballer. Ending this season on 304 games we are delighted to see him back at Ontime Delivery Solutions Oval to add to his tally.

"Nip" brings a level of footy nous, committment and dedication that is rarely seen these days in community footy. He does things with the footy in his hand that men half his age cannot do, he makes his team mates better and does his club proud.

Great to have you back mate for another crack!

šŸ“£FOOTBALL PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENTšŸ“£

Our under 19's season came to a close last Saturday in the preliminary final. One of many (and I do mean many) highlights throughout season 2026 was the emergence of Jacob Lilley our vice captain as a natural footballing talent. Another product of the Macedon Junior Football Netball Club program, he has continued his form and made his senior football debut this season.

It would be fair to say the Lilley family has sound connections with our football community in Macedon. Dad Frank and sister Zoe with the youth girls team and mum Shelley as a trainer in both footy formats. There is also an elite background in Futsal for the Lilley boys.

We are glad football with the Cats was the pathway chosen and hope that season 2027 at Ontime Delivery Solutions Oval is a ripper Jacob.

šŸ“£FOOTBALL PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENTšŸ“£

Since joining our footy club in 2025 Blake Watson has been a dominant force at Ontime Delivery Solutions Oval. Our 2025 Rising Star and multiple RDFNL Player of the Week awards, "Watto" brings a level of maturity to his football the belies his age. A stint over the summer playing in the Northern Territory he hit the ground running in 2026.

35 senior games so far, 32 goals and 28 mentions in our best tells an impressive story about his footy and his character.

We all look foward to seeing what 2027 brings.

FINALS RESULTS

Not the results we were hoping for, but incredibly proud of all three teams and the fight they showed right to the final whistle.
Our C Grade, Reserves and U19 Footballers gave everything they had, bringing their 2026 seasons to an end.
A huge thank you to our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters for everything youā€™ve put into the season.

Callum Large is back at Ontime Delivery Solutions Oval in 2027. The pathway continues from under 19 to senior footy far Cal. In the hoops since 2021, a junior player with the Macedon Junior Football Netball Club the crafty onballer and small forward made his mark this season with 8 senior games with a standout performance in round 14 kicking 4 and named in the best.

Having been a consitent performer throughout his junior footy its great to see players like Cal continue their footy journey with the Macedon FNC.

šŸ“£FOOTBALL PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENTšŸ“£

As our under 19's footballers head into a preliminary final we are super excited to announce their skipper Jackson Alabaster has committed to the Cats for 2027.

Joining the MFNC in 2023, he has played 56 club games and made his senior footy debut this season where he slotted into the forward line beautifully and kicked a goal. Our footy focus at Macedon revolves around the development of younger players like "Jacko".

2027 has seen him evolve as a leader, as a footballer and most importantly as a quality young man. We all look forward to the next phase of his journey at Ontime Delivery Solutions Oval.

Macedon FNC is on the lookout for netball coaches for the 2027 season.

Weā€™re looking for coaches for:

šŸ B Grade
šŸ C Grade
šŸ D Grade
šŸ Under 19s

This is your chance to be part of the Macedon Cats netball program and help develop the next wave of Cats talent.

Weā€™re looking for people who are committed to player development, open to feedback, willing to learn, and ready to be part of a positive, connected coaching group.

You donā€™t need to have all the answers. You just need to love netball, care about our players, and be prepared to keep learning, growing and building alongside our Head Coach Katie Clarke and coaching team.

Bonus points if you can run a sharp drill, manage a bench, give calm quarter-time feedback and somehow still know where every bib has disappeared to.
