What an incredible two days of basketball 🖤❤️

Our second holiday hoops camp of the year was certainly one to remember 🤩
With 140+ young kids taking part, we’ve officially set a new Mackay Basketball Holiday Hoops Camp record 🙌🏀

To all of our players, thank you for bringing the energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn every single session. It was fantastic to see so many smiles, new friendships, and overall enjoyment across the two days 😄

A huge thank you to our amazing coaches, who gave up their time to teach, encourage, and inspire the next generation of Mackay Basketball players. We couldn’t run camps like this without your passion and commitment 👏

Finally, thank you to all of our parents and families for getting your kids to the courts and supporting everything we do. Your continued support helps make opportunities like this possible 🙏

This Friday both of our NBL1 teams will be raising money for the McGrath Foundation in our annual Shelley Rutland Memorial Round 🙌

The McDonalds Mackay Meteorettes jerseys will continue to be held via a live auction on Saturday night at the conclusion of the Mens game💰

The McDonalds Mackay Meteors jersey auction will be fully online 💻

The jersey auction will close at midnight (12:00am) on Saturday July 4⏳

Our Meteors put together an outstanding offensive performance on Saturday night, defeating Rockhampton 118-99 behind a complete team effort on both ends of the floor 🏀

Our McDonald's Mackay Meteorettes battled hard throughout Saturday night's contest but were unable to erase the deficit, falling 82-70 to Rockhampton despite a determined second-half effort 🏀

Congratulations to Mackay Basketball's own, Ben Sullivan, who made his QSL refereeing debut on the weekend as the Northside Wizards took on Southern Districts Spartans in their QSL Youth League 1 Women's matchup.

Having now entered the Senior Representative landscape, we wish Ben the best of luck as he continues on his officiating journey.

What an incredible result from our 2026 Brad Rasmussen "Milkman" Jersey Auctions 🥛

Thanks to the generosity of our Mackay Basketball community, sponsors, players, coaches, staff, volunteers and supporters, the combined Meteors and Meteorettes jersey auctions raised nearly $26,000 to support Ronald McDonald House Charities North Queensland 👏

As always, this special round was about more than basketball, but it was an opportunity to honour Brad Rasmussen's 20 years of dedication to Mackay Basketball ☄️

Also to give back to a charity that provides vital support to regional families when they need it most 🙏

A huge thank you to everyone who placed a bid, shared the auctions, and helped make this initiative such a success 🙌
