Some sad news about a club legend from Graham Mackie of the recent passing of Phil Friend.
"Just to let everyone know Club Stalwart Club Captain & First Grade Captain Phil Friend passed way last Sunday after a long illness
Phil played approx 300 games for the club starting in 1972 & was the glue that held the club together in the 1970's & 80's packing down in the front row against some of the best in 1st Division
Off the field he was a born leader & the great spirit in the club revolved around his enormous personality
Phil was the best rugby mate a person could ever have
He lived on the Central Coast & was heavily involved in rugby administration up until a few years ago
One of the best ever to wear a Macquarie Uni rugby jersey
Phil Friend RIP" - Graham Mackie
