Hello members and friends. As many of you know, Macquarie Ice Rink is undergoing a significant upgrade during 2025. To facilitate the works, rink management have had to cancel all figure skating training ice time, plus all ice time needed for competitions, tests, clinics, camps, and events, for the whole of 2025.
This means we can’t secure ice time for MIRA or Club Championships, so we’ve made the difficult decision to ask NSWISA to proactively remove those events from the 2025 calendar.
We’ve been advised by the rink that public sessions will be run as far as possible, but they may be changed or cancelled at short notice, depending on the works. So check the rink website for their up to the minute schedule before you come in!
We would also like to take a minute to acknowledge the team at Macquarie Ice Rink, who are trying to balance the needs of all their regular patrons (figure, speed, and hockey) while undergoing major construction work.
We are excited to watch the progress of the upgrades, and cannot wait to see the new rink unveiled and ready for use, hopefully in a year or so from now.
