What an incredible day for our MLAC race walkers at the WA State Championships last weekend. Every athlete stepped up to the challenge, walked exceptionally well and gave it their all from start to finish. We couldn't be prouder of their efforts and achievements.

Results:
🥇 U10 – Emily – 1st
4️⃣ U10 – Misty – 4th
🥈 U14 – Gabby – 2nd
🥇 U16 – Tory – 1st

One of the best things about being part of Maddington Little Athletics is seeing our athletes train and grow together. Over the winter season, cross country runners and race walkers from within GDLAC came to train with our exceptionally experienced running and walks coaches.
Having the club and centre walkers of different ages and abilities training alongside each other, encouraging one another and sharing their knowledge creates such a positive team environment. It was fantastic to see that translate onto the track at States with 10 medals!!

A huge thank you to our amazing coaches for the time, dedication and encouragement they give our athletes each week not only from our club but also from our GDLAC centre. Your hard work behind the scenes plays such a huge part in helping our athletes develop and achieve their goals.

An absolutely outstanding effort from all of our walkers. Well done everyone — we are incredibly proud of you all! ⭐️

Congratulations to Vanessa for being selected to represent WA at the 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships in Ballarat! We wish you the very best of luck 🖤💛

The 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships will be held in Ballarat on Saturday, 22 August, with a team of 112 Western Australian athletes selected to represent the state.

Each athlete earned their place through outstanding performances throughout the winter cross country season, reflecting the depth of talent across Western Australia.
