For many years, our Club has had the pleasure of hosting members from the 1st Wembley Downs Scout Fellowship Group. On their recent visit, what looked like an afternoon doomed because of the inclement weather forecast, turned into a happy, fun filled occasion with sunshine and blue skies! Congratulations to all the players who participated in a tournament, where the most hoops scored in both the Men’s and Women’s categories, were awarded a medal. We look forward to hosting you again next year 😀

The “Sparkling Rubies” recently held their annual "tournament" at our Club. The ladies had a fun morning of playing golf croquet followed by socialising over morning tea. We look forward to hosting them again on their next visit.

Vale Beverley Storer
It is with great sadness that we say farewell to Bev, a treasured member of the Mandurah Croquet & Recreation Club, who passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Bev and her husband Ernie joined our Club in 2019. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage – an amazing milestone!
She may have been “little” in statue, but Bev had the biggest heart of gold and was loved and respected by all. Her infectious enthusiasm and spirit lifted everyone in the Club and she in turn enjoyed the company and chats with fellow members.
Bev enjoyed playing golf croquet and always said if she managed to run a hoop “it was a good day” and was happy.
Bev was a wonderful volunteer and took charge of the catering whenever she could for Club events. Organising members and food donations, she was a wiz in the kitchen and ran this side very efficiently. She was always happy to give you some cooking tips and hints and advice on gadgets that were handy and useful. How lucky we all were, when we were treated on a number of occasions to a batch of Bev and Ernie’s “famous” scones for morning tea.
Bev was a shining light at the Club
Though her light has dimmed
She will not be forgotten
“A beautiful angel now at peace”
Ernie, from all your friends at the Club, we extend our deepest sympathy and support to you and your family during this sad time.

Another great Club tournament was held on the 28th February, when 5 teams took to the “pristine” courts to compete in the GC Handicap Doubles Championship.
Well done to everyone who participated in the event, especially to the first time tournament players. Two teams were tied and the Championship was decided on the last game they played against each other.
Congratulations to the winners, Cindy and Johanna and runners-up Fred and Mark.
