At Carlile, swimming is more than a just skill, it’s a foundation for life. Forbes and Ursula Carlile built more than a swim school, they built a legacy that continues to inspire every child who learns to swim with us today! 🏊‍♀️✨

From a rock pool in Palm Beach to the Olympic podium. For over 75 years, the Carlile method has shaped Australian swimming history. From Ursula Carlile, Australia's first female national head coach and International Swimming Hall of Fame inductee, to John Davies' 1952 Helsinki gold, to Shane Gould's three Munich gold medals, to Olivia Wunsch's Paris 2024 world championship title. That legacy lives in every single lesson ✨

We will be closed on Saturday the 25th AND Monday the 27th of April for ANZAC day.

Lest we forget ❤️

Did you know the way your child learns to swim today was shaped by two Australians?

Forbes and Ursula Carlile weren't just coaches, they were visionaries. They’re the only husband and wife duo in the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

They pioneered everything from the pace clock and goggles to heart rate monitoring and underwater filming, opening Australia's first commercial swim school and building the industry we are part of today.

Forbes was Australia's first Olympic swimming coach. Ursula remains the only woman to serve as head coach of the Australian Swimming Team.

Together, their legacy spans 50+ Australian representatives, 8 world record holders and over 250 Australian Open Gold medals.

Their methods are the foundation of the program your children experience with us today. Excellence has always been in our DNA ✨

Forbes and Ursula Carlile weren’t just coaches, they were pioneers who built Australia’s first commercial swim school and transformed swimming forever.

Their passion for innovation created the foundation of modern swim teaching, and their legacy continues in every Carlile pool today.

We are proud to announce that Kirby Swim has chosen to become Carlile Swim from the 12th of May! Carlile Swim 🤗

This is not a simple name change; it's a powerful evolution which our founders Bill and Saskia Kirby are proud to be a part of. We now share the same technique-focused teaching philosophy across Australia, backed by a legendary name in Australian and world swimming.

This partnership is not a coincidence. Bill and Saskia have always led with the same values that Forbes and Ursula Carlile built their legacy upon: water safety, skill progression, and a family-first community.

One philosophy, two legacies, now united.

Most importantly, our expert team remains. The same dedicated people, the same safe and supportive environment, now with even greater support behind us.

We are thrilled to take this journey with you. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing more of the incredible Carlile story. If you have any questions, please ask!
Thank you for your ongoing support 💙
