Being a fight mum is so much more than what you see on fight night.

Yes, we are there for the wins, the achievements, the travel, the excitement and all the incredible memories. And this makes the journey such an enjoyable one.

But what you don’t see is what I see.

I see the hard work day in and day out. The sacrifices. The early mornings and late nights. The times they miss out on fun because they’re in camp. The bruises, blood, sweat and tears. The endless sacrifices.

I try to carry the worry so they don’t have to.

And then there are the nights when their hand isn’t raised. Those are the hardest.

Because as their mum, I want to protect them from every disappointment, every hurt and every heartbreak. But I also know that without the losses, the wins wouldn’t seem so good.

So I dust my baby off, remind them who they are, and tell them there is a new day, a new challenge and new opportunities just around the corner.

I couldn’t be prouder to be the mum of Muay Thai fighters.

As hard as it is sending them into the fire when every part of me wants to protect them, I know they are capable. I know they are strong. And I know they are ready.

There is only ever one winner on the night.

But no matter what that decision says, they have already won in my eyes. ❤️🥊

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in the journey so far. It's been a wild ride but Skye is only just getting started.
