With the rain clouds bearing in it was an old fashioned see saw event where the supers boys had Kingsways measure until quarter time. Then the roos adjusted well and seemed to spread a bit better (what you would expect from an A grade club), however still ensuring a real solid back and forth contest for the rest of the game and seeing our 3 debutants (bryce, kye and trent) have solid hit outs. The midfield and lunty in the ruck were busier than a one armed bricklayer in tehran, she was hot in the engine room!
Solid performances all around the ground however the roos may have just had our measure by the end siren and the makos boys with plenty to build on for the last 6 games of the year!
Hard to pick any standouts however wes, bryce, matty ferris, chippy with his first sausage roll (in the first 30 secs) plus many others played with true mako spirit! Unfortunately we lost our co cap the mighty tigs to a horrid shoulder injury in an ambitious play in the last 30 seconds of the game, who also put in a sensational performance through out the day!
A big thank you to all who helped especially Tony Wilkey who assisted in coaching!
Thankyou to the masters lads who helped out.
With some more consistency on the track and all the new boys gelling there will be plenty more mako spirit to come!
See you at training and for round 7!

In ideal conditions at the Warnbro Swans Masters Carnival, the Mighty Mandurah Makos travelled north to face the Kingsway Roos, delivering a performance equal parts grit, humour, and classic AFL Mastersโgrade unpredictability.
Makos Start Strong
From the opening bounce, the Makos seized momentum. Midfielders Hedgy, Micky D and Lloyd dominated early, finding space on the expansive main oval and repeatedly driving the ball forward.
An early setback came when Pratty suffered a hamstring injury, leaving the Makos one man down and the physio one client richer.
A last quarter setback also when Gazz's trusty calf had another malfunction seeing him also sidelined for the remainder.
Speedy recovery to you both on your injuries.
Defence Holds Firm
The backline, anchored by Shimma and the everโreliable Club Legend Bruiser Blay, proved impenetrable. Their composure under pressure ensured the Roos were kept at bay, with Bruiserโs trademark defending reminding everyone why heโs a Masters icon.
Forward Line Fires (Eventually)
Up forward, Jars presented tirelessly, leading into space all afternoon. Unfortunately, the delivery to him was described by onlookers as โcreativeโ rather than โaccurate.โ
Fortunately, Vic and BJ stepped up:
Vic clunked strong contested marks
BJโs left boot remained as dependable as ever.
Together, they provided the scoreboard pressure the Makos needed.
Hedgy managed to sneak forward in the last quarter and kick an absolute blinder from the pocket and " YES" he was happy to let everyone know about it.
Rotations Boost the Tempo
Thanks to the Warnbro fellas that suited up to bolster the Makosโ bench. The added rotations kept the pace high and the cramping low, contributing to a spirited contest played in true Masters ethos.
OffโField Heroes
The Makos extended thanks to:
Wilks for strategic magnetโflipping
Matty for running messages and water
Jimmy for keeping players hydrated
Final Word
In a match defined by teamwork, sportsmanship, and the occasional questionable kick, the Makos once again embodied the spirit of Masters football.
Cheers, Kizza ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐๐ป๐ป

๐ฆ What a day for the Mandurah Makos Masters! ๐ฆ
With plenty of numbers available, the boys enjoyed having lots of rotations through the bench, helping keep everyone fresh throughout the day.
A big Makos welcome to our two new players, Joshua Heeney and Shaun Hildebrant. Great to have you on board and we hope you enjoyed your first run with the club! ๐
It was a tough day at the office as we took on the HPW Bears at Warnbro, but the boys certainly improved as the game went on and never stopped having a crack.
Cuz was outstanding down back all day until a late hamstring scare, while Jadeo and Fossey seemed to be everywhere around the ground. Daz also put together a terrific performance and was one of our standout players for the day. ๐ช
A massive thanks as well to Camo for the freshly washed jumpers. The boys have never smelt so good! ๐๐คข๐คฎ๐คง๐ทโฃ๏ธ๐จ๐งผ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Rest up, recover well, and we'll be ready to go again next Fortnight.
