Sun Run 2024 🏃🏻‍♂️🥇✔️

10k in the bank - this year felt so good finishing this run stronger than ever, even enjoying the hills.

Challenging the daily norm, pushing through the mental and physical barriers is tough, big shout out to , as someone who loves HIIT, boxing and strength training most, hitting the pavement was a new challenge and he absolutely smashed it.

▪️3 exercises per round
▪️3 rounds
▪️Total of 9 minutes

Swipe for the next exercises depending if you’ve got 9, 18 or 27 minutes to spare!

1 minute rest at the end of each 9 minute round.

You’ve likely heard the term ‘compound exercise’ thrown around, but what are they and why are they renowned as the most effective exercises that you should be doing?

Well, we all want more for our buck when it comes to our time in the gym and the input of our effort working out to be rewarded - this is where it’s time to utilise the benefits of the ‘compound exercises’.

📣 The top 6 you need in your program:
▪️Squats
▪️Deadlifts
▪️Bent over row
▪️Pull ups
▪️Bench press
▪️Overhead press

📣 Why they’re the most effective:
▫️Work more muscles at once, creating a full body workout for optimal strength

▫️Maximise calorie burn 🔥

▫️Translates to everyday movements/activities (who wants to carry all their shopping indoors in one trip?👀)

▫️Keeps your heart rate elevated and your heart strong

They’re big, they’re solid and you need them in your workout program, it’s as simple as that.

Focus on perfecting the technique/form before increasing the load as you can see major results with mind-muscle connection.

Make sure to prioritize tempo and the eccentric and concentric phases of the exercise instead of overloading before you’re ready, potentially exposing yourself to those silly injuries that hang around.
