Hunter Sutcliffe 🏆 2026 QBC A GRADE CHAMPION 🏆

What a way to finish the year! The 2026 A Grade title came down to the very last heat of the last point-scoring contest.

Defending A Grade Champion Dylan Bird put on an excellent display of surfing to take the final win, ultimately crowning Hunter Sutcliffe our 2026 A Grade Club Champion 🏆

What a year it’s been for Hunter! Picking up a sponsor with Volcom Australia & New Zealand , putting together results both in and out of QBC, and continuing to make a name for himself. His consistency throughout the club season has been outstanding, and now he adds a QBC A Grade Title 🏆 to an already incredible year. Hunter joins the champions list as one of the youngest surfers to ever claim the title, and we couldn’t be more stoked for him.

A massive congratulations also goes to Austin Ware , who put together one of the most dominant seasons we’ve seen. Four consecutive contest wins and an incredible effort to take the title race right down to the final heat, despite competing in one fewer contest. An absolute legend of our club and a true sportsman.

Congratulations Hunter!

Alright Gumbys, we are here... the LAST point-scoring club contest of 2026 ❤️‍🔥

Rego is open & we in for a good one!

We’ve got a few divisions coming right down to the wire, but none bigger than the A Grade Title 🏆

Current rankings leader Hunter “Bunhead” Sutcliffe is looking to run away with the title, unless the master Austin “Uncle” Ware can steal it off him with a win.

It all comes down to Saturday, you dont want to miss this one!

We’ll also have the legends from Futures. joining us for a DEMO DAY throughout the contest. They’ll have plenty of fins and boards on hand for everyone to jump on and try, from the Groms right through to the older crew.

Epic weekend of Surftag for the QBC.

4th Women’s

Proud of the 20 surfers who represented QBC across the weekend. Big thanks to everyone who came down to support, especially those who braved the cold and rain today!

Special mentions to Georgie-may for scoring the highest total in the Women’s final with a 8.77 power wave! And to the super coach Dylan Bird who helped the girls all day today and didn’t leave the tent. Legendary stuff!

Saturday at SurfTag didn’t quite go to plan for our Open Men’s team, but it was great to see such a strong QBC crew down supporting the boys.

Now onto another big one… ABB ‼️

This Saturday the ABB Qualifier hits South Curly. We want as many Gumbys as possible down there supporting the team and making some noise. Let’s get QBC back to Burleigh Heads for the National Final in March 2027.

14 of QBC’s best Groms, Women & Girls competed on the Gold Coast over the weekend at the the premier Australian team’s contest - Kirra Surfriders Club Teams Jnr & Women Event.

While we didn’t place this year, QBC had some standout moments across the weekend, with all our surfers in the mix with the best of Australia’s club surfing talent.

Proud of our QBC Team, and thanks again to Kirra Surfriders Club for putting on such a huge event.

❤️‍🔥 GET BEHIND OUR GUMBYS ❤️‍🔥

A huge achievement for two of our Jnr Gumbys, with Hunter & Jai selected for the NSW Team to compete at the Australian Titles in Margaret River this November.

We’re incredibly proud to see our juniors representing QBC and NSW at the highest level. As a club and community, we’ve always backed our surfers when they get the opportunity to take their surfing further, and we want to get right behind the boys for their trip West.

For our upcoming contests, all money raised through the QBC BBQ will go towards the boys Aussie Titles campaigns, helping with the costs of their time in the West.

The whole club is behind you boys.
