Congratulations to our 9er sailors who sailed in the RQYS Youth Week. We managed to get 8 races in varied conditions with some of the closest and most competitive racing.

Hi all 9er parents, supporters and sailors. After a slow..ish start to RQ Youth Week we managed to get 3 races in 6-12 knots on a glorious winters day. Well done to RQ race management and all the sailors.

On another note, the 9er Committee would like to thank the parent/supporter participation at the Qld 9er AGM. Your support, feedback and ideas were very much appreciated.

We are also happy to announce a refreshed 9er Committee based on the AGM. It was wonderful to see new faces looking to lend a hand. We have a couple of roles left to fill.

9er Committee.

Hi all 29er sailors.....we are go for RQYS Youth regatta. Briefing at 0900.

For all parents and supporters we would like to hold the AGM, 60m after the lats boat is off the water. We will hold it outdoors, most likely just in the 29er rigging area.

We have a fantastic group of sailors and we need to support.

We have a host of new volunteers ready to roll for 2022 and we need a couple of roles filled.

See you tomorrow.....1.5m apart of course.

9er Nationals in WA 6-10th January at South of Perth Yacht Club.

No lead up events planned yet - but we are hopeful there will be.

We will soon announce a parent/supporter meeting time during RQ Youth Race Regatta.

This will be a big regatta for the Qld 9er fleet. Top class coaches, a fantastic venue and a holiday for the whole family.

Haven’t been to a Queensland Youth Championships yet? 29ers and many other classes come to Yeppoon every year to have loads of fun! The Coaching Clinic with qualified Australian Sailing Coaches is three days of learning new skills and meeting new friends. The Regatta is 3 days of putting all that you learned into practice on the race course. Notice of Race and Entry opens soon!

Qld 9er sailors, parents and supporters. The Qld Committee will be seeking nominations for all roles at the AGM to be held during the RQYS Youth Week Regatta in July.

The current committee members of Darren Rogers, Rob Sloman and Christine Bridge will be standing down to allow space for new members to continue to drive the Qld 9er sailing team.

Darren and Rob can stay on, but believe it is time after more than 5 years to hand over.

29er parents and supporters are particularly encouraged to put your name forward. Your committee is the backbone of the resurgence in 29er sailing in the last few years and we want to continue to grow this group and provide a stable Association for new sailors. The roles are very rewarding and do not require a huge commitment.

South of Perth Yacht Club - venue for the 2021 9er Nationals (fingers crossed). One of our Qld 9er spies out and about talking to a local to get the inside running and we managed to find a suitable coach boat for the Nationals. Keep up the hard work through winter, Nationals will be one not to miss.
