Celebrating another successful year for Give Me 5 at the hoedown.

Many thanks to the Sunshine Coast Turf Club and Winx managing owner Peter Tighe for arranging a private luncheon as part of our sponsorship of the “Double R Group Winx Guineas” on Caloundra Cup day. Peter kindly brought along some of the great mare’s trophies to share with us – including the 2018 Cox Plate, the 4th year in succession Winx won our most famous weight for age race! 🎉👏

The Reed family has a long and happy association with the Sunshine Coast Turf Club. It is therefore with great pride – and just a little bit of nostalgia – that Double R Directors Ken Reed and Scott Rossow are able to announce Double R Group will rekindle the relationship as naming rights sponsor for the $200,000 Group 3 Winx Guineas over the next 4 years!

Double R Thoroughbreds strengthened its partnership with Widden Stud even further this week, purchasing three lovely broodmares in conjunction with Widden at the Magic Millions sale on the Gold Coast. Inclement (pictured) is a half-sister to the outstanding Group 1 winning sprinter Santa Ana Lane, and will make a great addition to the Double R and Widden broodmare band 🐎🎉

Double R Director Ken Reed and his beautiful wife Leanne had a terrific afternoon raising money for SunnyKids at the Travis Schultz & Partners Winemakers Master Class supported by NAB 🍷🎉

We're thrilled to share with you that the final stage of Aspect at Gympie has enjoyed an almost identical response to the market as its predecessors, with Stage 9 selling out within three days of hitting the market!

We've found a large portion of buyers were from the Sunshine Coast, but there was still a healthy trickle of interest from locals and interstate purchasers 🎉👏

Happy birthday to one of our Directors - Scott Rossow! On behalf of the Double R team we hope you have a great day.

Double R Group Directors Ken and Scott were extremely excited to have had a firsthand look at Widden Stud's Stallion - Zousain. The striking son of Zoustar has already sired a lovely filly to Double R Thoroughbred's broodmare Hollaback Girl in his first crop, with two more foals due this spring. We're thrilled to see our Thoroughbred's family continue to grow!

A big shout out to the incredible team at Widden Stud for their hospitality while we stopped by the property to inspect our breeding stock - we sure know they're in great hands! 🙌
