At BlueFit, our purpose is Inspiring Community Activity, and that starts with building spaces where absolutely everyone feels safe to participate and play.

On Friday, 28th August, we are inviting all our amazing staff and members to stand out, roll up their sleeves, and wear purple for Wear It Purple Day!

This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, reminds us that bravery isn't always loud. It’s found in the everyday choices to live proudly, stand beside a friend, and invite others into understanding and acceptance.

Whether you are hitting our gyms, pools, stadiums, or courses, throw on a purple shirt, socks, or wristband! Let’s flood our facilities with colour and ensure everyone who walks through our doors knows they truly belong.

🌊 Meet Sarah – Our Infant Swimming Specialist! 🐠

We’re excited to introduce the amazing Sarah Healey, one of our wonderful Infant Swimming Specialists! 💦

With 8 years of teaching experience and an incredible 20 years in the leisure industry, Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and, most importantly, a genuine passion for helping little ones become confident and comfortable in the water.

Sarah absolutely loves teaching babies and infants, and there’s nothing she enjoys more than seeing those first smiles, splashes and little milestones along the way! 🥰

💡 Fun fact about Sarah: When she’s not in the pool, she’s an adrenaline ju**ie! Sarah loves bungee jumping and skydiving – definitely someone who knows how to make a splash! 😆

We’re so lucky to have Sarah as part of our team. ❤️

🏊 WORLD DROWNING PREVENTION DAY 2026 🏊

Drowning is an issue that affects every nation of the world. Globally, more than 300,000 people lose their lives to drowning every year. Drowning predominately impacts children and young people, and in Australia, hundreds of families lose loved ones to drowning every year.

Because drowning predominantly impacts children and young people, At BlueFit we are taking this opportunity to remind families of our supervision policies, which are in place to help keep our community safe in and around the water.

What you need to know:
👶 Children aged 0–5 and all non swimmers: Must be within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian at all times. This means the adult must be actively in the water with the child.
🧍‍♀️ Children aged 6–10: Must be closely and actively supervised. Maintain constant visual contact and be ready to enter the water.
⛔️ Minimise distractions: Put away mobile phones, avoid lengthy conversations, and stay clear of any distractions that can cause a fatal lapse in attention.

Every small step we individually take can help save lives.

💙 You can also join the global movement to promote water safety by Going Blue! On the 25th of July, we encourage our community to show their support by wearing blue to the pool, whether it is a blue swimsuit, blue swim cap, or simply bringing a blue towel.
