Pilates Wellness Centre Boutique Pilates studio, Small Group Class, Private & Semi Private. BASI EDU Training, Full apparatus

The longest standing Pilates fitness studio on the Sunshine Coast
Established April 2014

A fully equipped Pilates studio gives us more than variety—it gives us options.

Across a week at Pilates Wellness Centre, you’ll see Reformers, Wunda Chairs, Towers and Barrels used in different ways.

Each apparatus changes the support, resistance, feedback and relationship with gravity. This allows us to choose the equipment that best supports the purpose of the movement—and the person doing it.

Small classes. Thoughtful teaching. The complete Pilates Method in action.

Control is one of the Pilates principles—but it is often misunderstood.

It isn’t about making movement rigid, slow or perfect. It is the ability to organise your body, move with intention, notice feedback and adjust when needed.

Sometimes control means maintaining a position. Sometimes it means allowing movement, changing the range or reducing the load. It can look different from one body—and one day—to the next.

We practise control so movement becomes more deliberate, adaptable and truly yours.

Movement doesn’t always need to be intense, measured or productive.

On World Mental Health Day, a gentle reminder that some days, your practice may simply be about breathing, reconnecting with your body and creating a little space.

A shorter session counts.
A gentler class counts.
Showing up as you are counts.

Your movement practice doesn’t need to be perfect to matter.

Move in a way that supports you today.

Why do small classes matter?

Because good teaching requires more than demonstrating an exercise from the front of the room.

With fewer people in each class, your teacher has the space to observe how you move, understand what your body needs and offer guidance that is genuinely relevant to you.

Spring settings, range, position and pace can be adjusted. We can notice when you’re ready to progress, when you need a different approach and when a small change in your body or apparatus, could completely transform how an exercise feels.

Small classes also create connection. There is time for questions, encouragement and the sense of community that comes from being known—not simply counted.
It’s still a group class, but the experience remains personal.

Seen. Guided. Supported.

That is the small-class difference and is the Pilates Wellness Centre

Strong, confident movement belongs at every age.

Today, on International Day of Older Persons, we’re celebrating the strength, experience and capability that continue to grow throughout our lives.

Maintaining strength, balance, mobility and coordination helps us keep doing the things that matter—lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, reaching, travelling, enjoying hobbies and moving through everyday life with greater confidence.

Pilates offers thoughtful challenge that can be adapted to your body, experience and goals. It isn’t about comparing yourself with anyone else. It’s about meeting your body where it is today and continuing to move forward.

Because ageing doesn’t mean stepping back from movement.

It means finding the right way to keep moving—strongly, confidently and with purpose.

Pilates - “It’s just stretching.” 🤣

This is one of the most common myths we hear about Pilates—but there is much more happening beneath the surface.

Pilates uses spring resistance, body weight and gravity to develop strength throughout the whole body. It asks you to maintain alignment, coordinate your breath, control each movement and respond to changing levels of support.

Yes, Pilates improves flexibility and mobility—but mobility is most useful when it is supported by strength, stability and control.

That is what makes the Pilates Method so complete.

It isn’t simply about how far you can stretch. It’s about learning to move with greater strength, awareness and confidence.

Come and experience the difference.

Meet the Wunda Chair—small in size, but crazy humbling!

The Wunda Chair uses a spring-loaded pedal to provide resistance, assistance and feedback throughout each movement.

Because there is less surface supporting the body, the Chair often asks you to create more of your own stability. It can help develop strength, balance, coordination and control while revealing movement patterns that may be less noticeable on other apparatus ie no cheating!

Exercises can be performed sitting, standing, kneeling or lying down, making the Chair incredibly versatile and adaptable to different bodies and abilities.

It may look simple—but the Wunda Chair offers deep, focused work and a whole new perspective on your Pilates practice.

Join us for Wunda Chair classes on Wednesdays at 8:00am and 1:00pm and throughout our Studio group classes on the timetable.

Have you tried the Wunda Chair yet?

Consistency creates change—but consistency does not mean doing everything perfectly.

It means returning to your movement practice regularly, working at a level that suits your body and allowing the smaller sessions to add up over time.

To help you create that rhythm, we’re introducing our 10 Class Challenge for October.

Complete 10 classes between 1–31 October and receive $40 PWC credit towards your next pack or monthly pass.

Collect your challenge card from the studio, have it stamped after each class and enjoy watching your consistency build—one class at a time.

This is Studio.

Our classes are deliberately small so we learn along the way, we have time to pause, to understand and to practice.

We are not a crowded room, loud and trendy. We are deliberate, precise and controlled to work on you.

I love to share knowledge and I love to see clients make the connections and deepen their practice.

This is Pilates in its truest form and it’s what you will find at The Pilates Wellness Centre.
