Last night was the ESFA End of Season Gala - celebrating the year that was and we were lucky enough to walk away with a few souvenirs!
Congratulations to our Girls Youth program for winning the ESFA Club Championship. A fantastic achievement for all of those involved in the program and for our VP, Jayne, who leads the program!
Each club were asked nominate their club volunteer champion of the year, and without hesitation our board had chosen, Arna “Queenie” Lee, who has been a part of the club since 1994, currently playing in our Over30s women’s team and a founding member of the Walking Football Program. Arna has been our number 1 chef at Coral Sea park, feeding hungry mouths at the club since the late 90s. On top of this, she’s had all 4 of her children play at the club, you may recognise one of her children as Club President (who we can share had zero input into the award winner as it was unanimously decided before he had even seen the nomination form!). It was a much deserved award and recognition for all of her hard work and the value she brings to ours and the ESFA Community.
The cherry on top, Arna was then chosen by ESFA and recognised as the female volunteer of the year, a Champion of Champions - we could not be prouder and were over the moon to see that the appreciation of Arna went beyond our Maroubra United Community.
