Ameras Palace Belly Dance Boutique

10 days ago I handed in the keys to the Marrickville Palace and only yesterday I received the news that the studio had passed inspection with the landlord. Yay! It was a nail biting 10 days, but we did it!
I want to thank the team who transformed what we remember as the Palace back to an empty room, resonating with 17 years of memories, dreams and dance celebrations.
Over 9 days of deconstruction various family and friends came to help demolish, sell, donate, dispose, categorize, pack, load…. And load…. And load. Then clean. It was a big task. Thank you James, Tim, Trish, Fernanda, Alex, Micaela, Jill, Hania, Dounia, Penny, Telly, Bridey, Mary, Kel, Kate, Simon, Jasper, Paul, Trevor. Thank you my Dad who accepted, without question, all of the stock and stuff which was jammed into his house, and Rachel who helped me sort out Dad’s place so I can set up a little showroom there. Thank you Amera for always being on the phone for me, and my besties who have coached me tirelessly throughout my journey. The support I’ve received from everyone in our dance community (and I mean everyone!) is the real definition of the word awesome. I am super motivated to build something beautiful and new for our industry. Much love to all.

Feeling super excited about the ‘next chapter’ for Amera’s Palace. I’m off to Egypt beginning of September so get in your bespoke orders! We’ve got great ideas for the future of the online store and I’m always keen to have a chat about any bellydance project to see how I can assist with props and costumes. I’m very honoured and excited about all the events this next month to celebrate Sydney bellydance, Middle Eastern music and Amera’s Palace from our wider community. Dear dance friends, students and customers, Thank you for the wonderful 13 years at 314 Marrickville Rd (otherwise known as Amera’s Palace!). I can’t renew the lease this time, so we won’t be having classes and events at the Palace in Marrickville post July. I bought the business from Amera and Rita in 2013. We’ve all loved it and I’ve met so very many amazing teachers, students and dance/drum enthusiasts. I will absolutely continue the online store, going to festivals and teaching workshops. I’ll keep travelling to beautiful Cairo twice a year to import all the stuff us belly dancers and drummers need!! I am not going far, I’m just downtown in Paddington, Sydney, with all of the stock, looking after my Dad, so if anyone needs my bespoke costume service I am right here for you and online. We have some exciting events coming up June/July to celebrate the Palace. So much love to you all, watch this space for fun, and future fun 😉Ali xx
