I’m a drowning prevention researcher – my kid’s school swimming carnival shocked me We know swimming ability is declining in Australia. One in four schools no longer holds a swimming carnival at all.

It’s school swimming carnival season and all reports are that the Marrickville RSL Youth Swim Club swimmers are smashing it at their schools!

Dates for our winter ‘blizzard’ series went out today - 2nd Saturday of May, June, July and August.

Even in the colder months we love racing!

2024 winner of the Blizzard trophy was Jasper - but in a handicapped competition where there is points just for swimming, he’ll have to fight to win it again in 2025!

The water is sparkling, the swimmers are being marshalled and the timekeepers are in place.
We’re excited for a great day of swimming at state champs.
