The Marrickville Marauders is a fencing club run by nationally accredited coach, Jess Brooks, at Marrickville PCYC on Thursday 5.00 pm -7.30 pm and Saturday 9.00 am - 11.30 am. This club focuses on developing young fencers from the age of 5 onwards in a fun, challenging and supportive environment. Over in Boston in the USA, on Friday Marauder Yelin competed in the Junior Woman’s Sabre Coupe du Monde!
Out of a massive field of 109 competitors, Yelin finished T26.
Earning a bye into the Top 64, Yelin powered into the Top 32 with a dominant 15–5 win over LUX, before a nail-biting 13–15 bout against USA.

Our marauder Zibo Xia (Eason) also competed in the Cadet Men’s sabre World Cup!
Eason finished in the top 32, with a promising result of 18th place!

Over the weekend in Germany, Marauders Daniel Iliffe and Zibo Xia competed in the Junior Men’s Sabre World Cup!
Out of 269 competitors our marauders finished 75th (Daniel Iliffe) and 212th (Zibo Xie).

Finishing 116th out of 220 competitors, Yelin has shown her strong abilities and just how much further she can go!

Congratulations to Marauder Daniel Iliffe, who earnt the title of National Champion over the weekend! 🏆 Dan fenced a strong pathway to the top, ranking #4 before defeating fencers from NSW, QLD and finally WA to secure the championship.
Fellow Marauder Eason Xia took on a Top 8 finish, while Marauder Yelin Zou also fought her way to the Top 8 in the Women’s competition.
