Rise and Shine!
A few weeks ago I asked a friend how they are going and they said "I've had a terrible week".
At the time I didn't offer a solution because I felt they just needed to get some stuff out.
Yesterday it happened again from a different person and I felt they were actually asking for help. So here was my response, if it helps you good.
1. Know the game: We are all playing a chess game with ourselves and sometimes the bad me wins.
2. Walk: walking each morning allows your brain some space to ponder (love that word) and that helps it to not get too full.
3. Journal: At the end of the day write down a few thoughts. If it has been a hard day and you didn't win the chess match - write F U, I will see you in the morning b_tch. This can help to reset the game and stop a bad day becoming a bad week.
4. Routines: Have a morning and a night routine. Plan for success the night before. This is your best chance at being successful with your morning routine.
5. Set Goals: Make your bed in the morning, this will start your day winning the chess match.
6. Being Healthy: What are you doing for your mind, body, soul? Everyday.
7. Make a date with yourself: Set time every day, every week for yourself. It might be a quiet coffee, or a workout, or catching up with a friend. Timetable yourself in.
8. Smile even when you aren't happy: It makes others happy to see you happy and this will help you to BE happy.
9. Thanks Dad: Be kind: to yourself and those around you, we never know what someone else is going through. But DO NOT ACCEPT people being reckless with you. The behaviour we accept is the behaviour we get.
10. Thanks Mum: Smell the flowers. Sometimes you just have to sit in a park or the backyard and watch the world go by.
Knowing when to offer your opinion or when to just listen can be hard. If you care deeply for family and friends then any opinion you give will be accepted as being given with good intentions.
