🐝📅 WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK | SEPT 7–13 📅🐝

A quieter week on the calendar, but there’s still plenty happening at Hornets!

🚦 MONDAY | GATES
Gates from 3:30pm until dusk OR until there’s no one left riding!

As always, gates are volunteer dependent, so keep an eye on the page for confirmation.

Then Sunday we swap race bikes for rakes, shovels and a bit of elbow grease… 😂👇

🛠️ SUNDAY | WORKING BEE
⏰ From 10:00am

There’s some much-needed work to get done around the track and everyone is welcome to come along and lend a hand, whether you know anything about track maintenance or absolutely nothing at all. It’s a great chance to learn, help out and see what goes into keeping our track running.

It’s also a great opportunity to meet other club families and get to know your committee when we’re not all flat-out trying to run a race day! 💛🖤

🐝 KIDS ARE WELCOME TOO!
Zoe and her helpers have them covered. They’ll start with a follow-the-leader clean-up around the track and surrounds with bags and gloves, then after washing up it’s into the sign-on room for yummy snacks and a movie while the grown-ups keep working.

🔧 MINI BIKE MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP
If everyone still has some energy left in the tank afterwards, we’ll finish up with a little bike-maintenance session covering the basics, plus a chance to ask any bike questions you’ve been wondering about.

⚠️ REMINDER: THE TRACK IS CLOSED FOR RIDING ON SUNDAY.

The working bee is about getting the track back into shape, not sneaking in a few laps while nobody’s looking. 👀😂

Our track is in need of some TLC, so it’s time to get the swarm together and get stuck in! 💛🖤

There’s some much-needed track work to tackle and EVERYONE is welcome. You absolutely don’t need to know what you’re doing! Come along, lend a hand and learn what actually goes into keeping our BMX track running.

We want Mum and Dad to be able to help without spending the entire time wondering where the small humans have disappeared to. 😂

Zoe, with the help of a friend, has the littlies covered!

🗑️ Little Hornets Clean-Up Crew
First they’ll grab some gloves and bags and follow Zoe around the track and surrounds picking up rubbish. Follow the Leader… but make it useful. 😂

🎬🍿 Then the reward!
Once they’re finished and hands are thoroughly washed, they’ll head into the sign-on room to get comfy with yummy snacks and a movie while the grown-ups keep working.

And if everyone still has a little fuel left in the tank afterwards…

🔧🚲 MINI BIKE MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP!

We’ll finish up with a casual hands-on session covering some of the basic bike maintenance every BMX family should know, plus an opportunity to ask those “is my bike supposed to be doing THAT?” questions. 😂

Whether you can stay for the whole thing or only spare an hour, every pair of hands helps.

Come get involved, learn a few things, meet some more of the Hornets crew and help us give our track the love it deserves. 🐝💛🖤

🔥🚲 COACHING WITH BAYLEE IS ON THIS SUNDAY! 🚲🔥

Want a little extra track time before racing? Baylee will be back on track Sunday 30th August for an hour of coaching before practice kicks off!

Work on your technique, build confidence, find a bit more speed and get some handy tips before putting it all into action on race day. 🏁

Then roll straight into practice from 10am and racing at 11:15am.

🐝 MINI-WHEELERS… ISAAC’S READY FOR YOU! 🚲🔥

Our littlest riders are taking over the track again this Sunday 30th August, with Isaac running another Mini Wheeler coaching session before racing!

If your little shredder is still finding their confidence, learning their way around the track or just wants to have a heap of fun on two wheels, this is the perfect session. 💛

And the best bit? Isaac is basically a big kid himself, so expect plenty of laughs, encouragement and fun while they learn! 😂🐝
