This one is for the tool/workshop nerds 😉.

After more than two years relying on a Unior fixed stand and an old portable Park Tool stand, I’ve finally upgraded to make life easier and save my back.

I’ve been eyeing off the different electric workstands available but due to price, height range, clamp options, availability etc, I haven’t pulled the trigger.

When Sam Sargent posted a video of motorbike storage hoist he had made, it looked the goods and he was able to knock up a couple of prototypes.

The first Iris-lift test was passed and initial thoughts are very positive. The winch lifts the bike plenty fast enough, auto stops at the top and the cable just goes slack when the bike makes touchdown. Height range is 2m down to practically zero.

The carrier uses a 50mm hitch mount (like your towbar) so swapping out different clamps is easy. This is important as I wanted something that can lift the moto frame style e-bikes that we are seeing a lot of. This clamp is still a work in progress so stay tuned to see if it works!

I will spend a few weeks putting these to work and iron out the kinks but if you’re interested in pricing or purchasing the plans/build list just reach out as there may be options in the future. Plus tag anyone you think might be interested!

Fresh off of a win in Hamburg 🇩🇪 Anu gets some upgrades
Through my time with AusCycling, I’ve had the opportunity set up many sets of Sync handlebars and unlike many cockpits, they are a dream to work on.
So many little details in design that make setup and adjustments simple.
From a mechanic - keep up the great work!

One tool to rule them all? Finger crossed! 🤞 After years of building my collection of various BB tools in a Coles bag, someone finally came along to bring some order to the chaos.
The Pedro’s BB socket set hasn’t let me down yet and there’s even slots in the box for when the bike industry comes up with another standard for no reason whatsoever.
Even the most wafer-thin t47 cup shoulders are gripped nicely with this tool. 100% would recommend.

It’s mountain bike season in the workshop today which means

Disc brake bleeds
Tubeless tops
Pivot bearing replacement

And even a 1x conversion to bring the Orbea up to spec.

The trails are a bit soggy at the moment but you can still go out and have a blast and let me worry about the aftermath 😂

Sleek and stealthy!
A Pro Service ($159) , waxed chain and some new brake pads to keep this machine in top shape after some hard winter riding.

The mornings are getting lighter so get inspired:)

The workshop is running smoothly at a 2-3 day turnaround or make a booking to lock in a spot 🔧🔧

Poor shifting can be caused by a number of issues:

- Incorrect adjustment
- Derailleur hanger alignment
- Excessive cable friction
- Worn or damaged components
- Incompatible components

But sometimes it just because a family of critters made a home in your shifter.

We’re solving problems everyday and service availability is good. Bookings can be made via phone, text, DM or via the website.

Fixing bikes is great, but sometimes it’s nice to put together a fresh build. If you have a particular purchase in mind or even if you have already sourced the parts, get it put together right ;-)
