A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Junior Presentation and helped make it such a great day, and to everyone who stayed on and took part in our AGM.

A special thank you to our outgoing President and Vice President, Renee Selby-Goreham and Neale Merrick. Your contribution to the club has been invaluable, and we’re very grateful for the time, effort and energy you’ve both given. We’re also very glad you’ll both still be involved and supporting the club moving forward.

A big congratulations to our new President, Josie Johnson — we know you’ll do a fantastic job leading the club into 2027 — and to our joint Vice Presidents, Tamara Merz and Reegan Connors. We’re excited to see what you’ll achieve together and know you’ll make a great team.

Thank you as well to everyone who has stepped into a committee or volunteer role for 2027.

Life Membership recognises a member who has provided outstanding service to the club and made a significant contribution over their time with Port Stephens Power.

Nominations will be considered by the Executive Committee, with the successful Life Member/s to be announced at the Senior Presentation on 16th October.

As per the club constitution, nominations must be supported by a proposer and seconder, and no more than two Life Members may be elected in any one year.

Our Senior Men signing off for 2026 ⚡️

While the results didn’t always go our way, we couldn’t be prouder of the way this group represented the club every single week. The boys always gave their all against some tough competition and showed plenty of heart along the way 🩵

The last few photos of the team getting around club legend Tony Merritt perfectly capture what footy is all about — community, mateship and being there for one another.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Senior Men throughout the season. Enjoy the off-season, and we’ll see you all at the end of the year for pre-season as we build towards a big 2027 ⚡️

🩵⚡️50 GAMES IN A FINAL⚡️🩵

What a special milestone today for two of our Juniors — Austin and Wyatt, who both celebrated their 50th AFL game for Port Power! 🏉👏

These two boys have been on this journey together from the very beginning.
Their journey started with Auskick in 2022, before taking the next step into junior footy.

They went into 2023 as Under 9s, spending two years in the team before moving up to Under 11s last year and now proudly representing PSAFC in the Under 12s this season.

Austin and Wyatt have played every one of their 50 games in the Port Colours, showing incredible commitment, friendship and love for the game along the way. 🩵

50 games, countless memories and hopefully many more to come! 🏉

Congratulations Austin & Wyatt on an amazing achievement! You should both be incredibly proud of yourselves.

Here’s to the next 50! 👏🩵

Senior Women’s Final Round Wrap Up 🌈⚡

The Port Power women returned home to Ferodale Oval for their final game of the season, taking on a very strong Newcastle City side for Pride Round.

Played in great spirit, Port certainly made City work for their opportunities. For the first time in what felt like forever, the women had the luxury of a full side and a bench, bringing plenty of energy and enthusiasm into the final game of 2026.

It was a fitting way to round out a season that has asked plenty of this group. Port has regularly taken the field down on numbers, with players stepping into unfamiliar positions, playing without a break and doing whatever was needed for the team. Through it all, they continued to show up, compete and play for each other.

The coaches’ votes went to Nic, who was dominant at both ends of the ground in attack and defence, Cheski, who made an impact wherever she was needed on the field, and Molly, who made a welcome return after being away for work and quickly reminded everyone what she brings to the side.

Players’ Player went to Grace, aka “Sniper”, whose relentless pressure was again on display. Her defensive efforts, attack on the contest and ability to impact play after play down the field earned the recognition of her teammates.

There is plenty to be excited about heading into 2027. New players have joined the group, continued to train and develop throughout the year, and the foundations are there to keep building. The women can hold their heads high after everything they produced this season, particularly when numbers were against them.

They finished the season together and with plenty of positive energy around the group. Now the aim is simple, carry that into 2027 and come back even stronger. 🌈⚡

⚡️ 50 GAMES FOR ZAIN KHALIL! ⚡️
From playing Under 9s in 2023 to reaching the incredible milestone of 50 games for Port Stephens Power AFC — what an achievement! 🩵
In just a few short years, we’ve watched Zain grow from a young player learning the game into a fantastic footballer, teammate and valued member of the Power family.
Fifty games represents countless training sessions, games, tackles, goals, friendships, wins, losses and plenty of memories along the way. 🏉
We couldn’t be prouder of the journey Zain has taken since those Under 9s days, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Congratulations Zain on 50 games! 🩵

Senior Men’s Round 17 Wrap-Up ⚡️

Our Senior Men’s team took on a tough Maitland Saints outfit on a very windy Saturday afternoon in Maitland.

We knew from the outset we were in for a tough contest, and Maitland came out firing from the opening bounce, putting 7 goals on the board to our 1 in the first quarter.

After an outstanding opening term from Maitland, our boys were determined to fight their way back into the contest. To their credit, they continued to work hard, but Maitland were resilient and kept the pressure on.

Our defensive pressure lifted significantly as the game went on, allowing us to go goal-for-goal with Maitland for the remainder of the match. Unfortunately, the deficit created in that first quarter proved too much to overcome.

Despite the result, we couldn’t be prouder of the effort and commitment this group has shown throughout the season. It’s certainly been a rollercoaster, particularly with the challenges of injuries, but the boys have continued to show up, compete and stick together.

One final tough test remains against Warners Bay next week before we celebrate the season, recharge and enjoy a well-earned break ahead of pre-season later this year.

Let’s finish strong. Let’s go Power! 🩵⚡️

100 games for Tom Schmahl 🩵⚡️

Tom started with Port in 2020 in the U9s and has grown into a competitive sportsman and consistent all-rounder.

A determined defender throughout his junior years, Tom has embraced the challenge of moving forward this season. He currently plays for Port in the U14s JV with the Marlins and was also selected this year to represent Hunter Metro.

Tom is a pleasure to coach, always showing respect, composure and a fantastic attitude. He might not be the biggest guy on the field, but he certainly has one of the biggest hearts. ❤️

Congratulations on 100 games, Tom! A fantastic milestone and one that you should be incredibly proud of. ⚡️🩵
