New Geo Watersnake trail was amazing managed 3 1/2 hrs run time on a 100ah lifepo battery. Will try longer next time hopefully the fish will come out to play.

I went to lake Nagambie to fish the Nagambie Cod Classic.
I have never caught a cod or a golden perch before. I went to Tackleworld Cranbourne for weeks prior asking lots of questions and getting as much information on how to catch these two species. Greg Smith and Brendon Cunningham were very forthcoming with the information I needed to catch these species. Without their help, I would not have been able to achieve my goal of catching these fish. On day one of the comp, I met up with them at a boat launch and boy was I in for a huge suprise! Greg was more than happy for me to follow him and observe from a distance. Never I’m my life did I think I would be taking the Solo Skiff in to some extremely skinny water laden with fallen trees. After hours of going through all of these roadblocks in the river and throwing lures along the way. We finally decided we had gone far enough. I found myself a thick branch to tie off and start jigging for golden perch. Within about 15 mins of jigging, I felt a solid thump and the rod almost being ripped from my hand. I was on it and it was big! I finally saw a golden shimmer amongst the timber. After 3 more dives I finally managed to net this fine specimen. My problem now was that I couldn’t measure inside the Solo Skiff. I found the nearest bank and took the photo to register my catch. A solid 53 cm golden perch. My entry was registered and safely released. I went to another branch, tied off and within no time, I was on again! Not as big but now a cod. My weekend goal was achieved to catch these two species. I caught more small cod as we navigated our way back to the ramp. It was an awsome day on the water. Day 2 was the same trek but with no joy. Day three still no luck, however, later in the morning, I received a call from tournament organisers to bring in my brag matt for verification. I obliged and went to the presentation. Then I was called up as having caught the largest golden-perch in the tournament. I was overjoyed! Thanks to Greg and Brendon for all your help. The Solo Skiff was truly in its element in these tough conditions.
Can’t wait for next year. #soloskiff #kayakfishingaustralia #tackleworld#paulworsteling 17/04/2021

Ran the watersnake 34lb on the solo skiff. 2 hrs full throttle reached 5.8 kms per hour. Now to see how much life is left in the battery. Was a great day to test out the watersnake . Who know when I will be able to get out again with the new lock down restrictions.
