If I wanted to train like an athlete, seeing how sore I could get tomorrow wouldn’t be the goal.
I’d want a program that allows me to adapt, recover, and continue training at a high standard without constantly being limited by fatigue.
My performance on the field, court, track, or wherever I compete would always take priority over chasing exhaustion in the gym.
I’d expect my training to evolve throughout the year, with each phase serving a specific purpose and building toward key performance outcomes.
And athletic development would go beyond lifting weights. Sprinting, jumping, bounding, hopping, and throwing would all be key components of my training.
I’d train for performance, not just fatigue.
Nothing better than the last minute hustle…not long now 🙏

Today we’re celebrating an incredibly inspiring achievement from one of our own athletes, Pete Kavanagh.
On May 15th, Pete stepped up to the start line for the first of 5 marathons in 5 days across the north of Bali. Covering a massive 210km journey from the north to the south of the island, he battled intense heat, humidity, and relentless climbs to complete the challenge. The run was all in support of the Bali Children’s Foundation, an education-to-employment charity that has been changing lives for the past 22 years.
Pete took on this challenge to show what’s possible through consistency, discipline, and simply showing up.
“I am closely connected to and passionate about this charity, so knowing I was inspiring the kids it’s meant to assist, means the world to me. My challenge was so tough but understanding that what we did would change lives helped overcome those tough moments (and there were a lot 😂).”
With the support of an incredible crew by his side throughout the demanding 5-day journey, Pete says he learned “a lot about the human spirit and ways in which people give back.”
Pete has been part of the Pivot family for the past 3 years, and we couldn’t be prouder of what he’s achieved.

What started as a spur of the moment decision 5 years ago has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of today.
I started Eastern Health & Performance to create a home for athletes, somewhere they felt supported through the rollercoaster that can come with being an athlete, while also building a workplace our team could be genuinely proud to represent.
Since joining forces with Juy over 2 years ago and building Pivot into what it is today, it’s been pretty special to see how far things have come.
There’s been plenty of highs and plenty of lows along the way, and it’s challenged me in more ways than one, but I’m incredibly grateful to have reached the 5-year mark.
Really excited for what’s ahead and to continue seeing the impact Pivot can have on athletes and the wider community.

As one chapter ends, another begins… and this week we’re excited to welcome Leslie to the Pivot team 💪
Leslie joins us as the Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach at Ringwood, bringing with him a huge depth of experience and knowledge, including:
• 10 years in Strength & Conditioning
• Experience with the Western Force Academy
• Former S&C coach with the Melbourne Rebels
• Currently completing his PhD at La Trobe University
With his time at La Trobe wrapping up in the coming weeks, Leslie said he’s “extremely excited to embed himself in the amazing community at Pivot.”
We’re pumped to have you on board, Leslie 🙌
Over the last 3 years, it’s been awesome to watch Joel grow as an athlete with us at Pivot. From competing as a professional boxer to taking on triathlons…and maybe even an Ironman soon 👀
