Just kept it lowkey and didn’t do much 🙊😅
FYI, slowing down the right parts of your dialogue won't make people bored nor waste their time.
Instead, it will enhance your competence.
It will make people curious what what's coming next.
It will hook people onto every word you say.

Don't live life sounding like you're asking your own name every time you introduce yourself... 🙈
This way of talking is so rife (Especially in Australia!) that it's become normal, and therefore invisible, and yet, it detracts so much credibility whenever you do this 👆

Sucks when we have to battle the 'worst case scenario', which seems to happen all too often, so
really, it's not actually the worst case scenario at all, and actually simply... What is expected 🤯
OF COURSE you're not going to be confident at the start.
OF COURSE you'll feel nervous if something is new.
OF COURSE you'll doubt yourself when you've never done it before.
But as says: Don't be afraid to fail, because every failure is simply a jumping stone 🗿
Thanks Pike for letting me pick your brain so others starting out can find confidence in their journey 🤝
once said: "I trained 4 years to run 9 seconds, and people give up when they don't see results in 2 months."
Yo, don't ask me for tips to become a world-class, confident, 5-figure paid TED speaker in 14 days.
The work IS the reward. The stuff nobody sees so they think it's negotiable. The growth that only YOU know how well-earned it was. The hours that people aren't willing to put in.
And because of that, it makes it even more possible for you 🙂
If most people aren't willing to do what it takes, then it leaves even more opportunity for you to make your move! 🤝

Did you know the emotion in your voice and body language is highly contagious? (Hatfield et al, 1992 & 2009). So if you want to build rapport on a sales call, social media video or when networking, the emotion in the way you speak can be what wins over the other person, versus not.

A snippet of my favourite drill to help people change the way that they sound: The Low/High/Mixed exercise.
This helps people to access different 'gears' in their voice, which means they will expand their way of talking so they're not always talking in the same, old way.
Instead of being monotone all the time, they can now become expressive.
Instead of talking too fast all the time, they will learn when to slow down to create anticipation.
Instead of mumbling all the time, they will learn how to clearly articulate.
Instead of always speaking at one volume, they can vary how much they project their voice to draw people in.

I've probably been to more networking events than most people, and trust me, more is not more.
Try to have a quick chat just so you can connect with me on LinkedIn and move onto the next person? Bye.
Try to sell to me your services in the first 5 minutes of meeting? It's a hard no.
Thrust your business card onto me without any conversation? That thing will probably get lost at the bottom of my handbag then serve as the bin for my freshly chewed gum (Soz lol).
Instead, I like to go in without any agenda, other than to have fun and curious conversations.
I am for 3 quality conversations per event, and go in as though I'm completely ignorant, so I get to have conversations that lead to thought-provoking questions, and the other person gets to teach me something I don't already know.
Anything above that? It's a bonus!!!
And it's true: When you try less, you get more.
80% of my business came from in-person relationships last year. Relationships that started with a compliment, or chats about anything BUT business!
Comment NETWORK and I’ll send you the exact techniques so you can network like a pro, skip the awkwardness and have flowing conversations (For FREE)! No more icky business over here 😉
