We’re delighted to welcome Em Thompson to MAV as our new Maths Leader.

Em will lead the design and delivery of the mathematics curriculum for the new Victorian Maths Camps, creating a rich week-long learning experience for high-ability Year 9 and 10 students in Victorian government schools.

Em Thompson completed a PhD in Pure Mathematics and brings valuable experience in mathematics education and learning design, including work with Oxford University Press ANZ.

They have also been part of the team at the National Mathematics Summer School in a range of roles, bringing deep expertise in student support, academic program delivery and mathematical enrichment to this role.
We’re thrilled to have Em Thompson bringing this breadth of experience and passion for mathematics to such an exciting new initiative.

Talk with Dr Henry Fowler – International Guest Speaker

Join for a special presentation by Dr Henry Fowler on an Indigenous pedagogical framework grounded in Navajo understandings of the four cardinal directions. The session explores how Indigenous and Western knowledge can work together through relationality, reciprocity and respect.
